It's not an overreaction. Honest question: what will it take for people like you to realize you're wrong on this?

I would URGE you to read through this guy's Tweets: https://twitter.com/BioBreakout

He's a NJ/NYC physician who is now handling COVID patients. Seems to be a Trump supporter, too. Anyways, go back and start going through his Tweets from around Feb 29 up till now. He goes from being as dismissive and disbelieving as everyone here... to now being freaked out by the whole thing and realizing he was wrong, now that he's seen firsthand what we're dealing with. I really, really hope that people here start to wake up and do what's necessary to save more lives and prevent this from overwhelming our system.

Oh yeah, curse and call me mean names just because I'm trying to wake you people up. For goodness' sake, a couple weeks ago I was in the "it's just the flu" camp too. How about do some research on your own? How about look at what the doctors in Italy are saying?

4000 people trapped on a ship in tight quarters, no hospitals. Less than 1% died, something like .68%. Elderly I believe. And even in that tight area only 17% were infected. These are numbers provided by a doctor just last week, wanting to demonstrate that the elderly at risk but its not world ending.

Immunocompromised are always at risk. Always. This panic is unjustified

You do realize death from can take up to 8 weeks to happen, right? That's 8 weeks in ICU. How will the system handle an onslaught of critical patients that are taking up ICU beds for weeks on end? Many of those people who you listed who have not died, have not even "recovered" yet. There's no telling how they'll end up, but the fact remains that they are occupying beds that will be needed by other patients when things get bad. Eventually, you run out of beds, because people are taking a long time to recover and yet you've still got tons of new cases coming in. You need to look at what has happened in Italy to get a clearer picture of what we're up against.

If I used your math on my stock account it would be big numbers too and very impressive

Trouble is it doesn’t work that way in real life

China has 80k?

China has had a total of 80K cases, at least what they admit to.

The number of active cases is down to about 10K. But, they had to resort to some draconian measures to get there.

It’s not an over reaction at all, these guidelines are precisely what is needed to slow this thing down.
