CORONAVIRUS MEGATHREAD, COMMENT HERE AND ONLY HERE ON .WIN ABOUT ANY CORONA NEWS
Can you please explain how we have enough ventilators to handle this? Can you explain why what's happened to Italy, definitely won't happen here? And can you explain how, if this is a regular flu, Italy's hospitals are running out of space? Can you explain why US hospital nurses/doctors are already noticing that this is different from anything they've faced before, and that they are noticing their beds rapidly filling up with COVID patients who will be occupying those beds for weeks? Can you please explain how this is just the same as a regular flu, when there are many people in their 30s without any underlying conditions coming in with scans showing severe lung damage?
Wake up. I don't understand why you're making these immature comments, laughing this off. How many hospitals will need to be overwhelmed before you admit you're wrong?
We have THREE TIMES the hospital capacity per capita than Italy, and the majority of people that are admitted are elective surgeries which can be suspended in times of emergency.
BUT ITS THE END OF THE WORLD AHHHHH
You're not doing the math about ICU beds/ventilators, though. This disease is landing people in the ICU for weeks. We have a limited # of ventilators, and many of our ventilators are already in-use. The ones we have leftover are not enough to handle all the projected COVID patients. Where did I say it's the end of the world? It's not. But many people may needlessly die if we can't buy/make more ventilators, or slow down the spread so that the cases are coming at a slower rate and the hospitals are able to handle them all. I just hope we can.
