I hear what you are saying, but let’s predict the future and see whose model holds turns out more true. I say that the over running of hospitals doesn’t even begin to occur. I believe that the media will only report the number of infections and not give any more dimension: no age stats, nothing about how many are critical, nothing that will inform you of the severity of the situation (only how widespread it is)
Further, I predict that there will be an impact to our military: NG deployments to American soil, as well as select cases of outbreaks in major bases.
I think the stock market will continue to tank to levels that simply make no sense. Further, I think we will see calls for nationalization of industry. Not just in the US mind you. I think the media will point to how well China has bounced back economically. On that note ... China will recover wonderfully from this. There active cases will go down to a few dozen in a couple of weeks. Interestingly, none of their elite will have died from the infection.
You will see China aid missions to Italy, Iran, Israel, Turkey, Africa.
Amazingly, after the aid, those places will recover just fine (from a health standpoint)
While the economy has been in the shitter, China and Russia will have extended credit , straight bought out international corporations on the cheap.
Around October, China will announce a generally ready and free vaccine.
