The point he was making is a temporal one in that the data we get today tells us where and how the virus was being spread previously. The data lags the outbreak.

Right but the author of the article claims that the media have real-time data and they are the same numbers the govt have so how can there be a lag? Not sure where the author gets the idea that the media somehow have a better pulse on real time data. Conveniently doesn’t explain that and takes it for granted. CTH is a conspiracy theory rag IMHO.

The author is not thinking rationally. Logically, the testing of the virus lags the spread of the virus as most people would not be tested unless they believed they were already experiencing symptoms. CTH, IMO, gets it right and wrong about equally. That is pretty good for today’s “news” media.

I enjoy reading CTH's analysis, but try to form my own conclusions.

IMO the reason for Fauci's numbers and the medias numbers being so close (yet claiming different points on this timeline is due (as mentioned above) to today's data is based on tests performed a few days ago. The media is reporting the results of tests taken days ago.Even GEOTUS's test (allegedly) took a day to get results. If I remember correctly, it was reported that he took the test Friday night, and didn't expect results until Sunday or Monday. He reported the results on Saturday (seemingly getting the results ahead of expectations.)

While the amount of action our government has taken may seem overblown, I can't get my head properly around the idea that 98-99% of the people that have symptoms are not infected. That is a lot of sick people that don't have the virus.

Tomorrow we will understand today.

Tomorrow's yesterday is today. And today's tomorrow is tomorrow's yesterday's tomorrow

That's correct. Tomorrow is today's future and today is tomorrow's past, and somewhere between here and there we'll run some tests and figure it all out, but right now I have no bloody idea what we're talking about. The press and the public might want to have all the answers immediately, but that's not how science (or politics) works.

tl;dr - Patience, grasshopper.
