I posted on another thread the day this news came out that it’s 100% fake news. I bet not one single publication will print this or retract or apologize or even fucking take down their original slanderous story.

It's an easy game to play. If the article has no solid sources is fake news.

Imagine what people got angry about. Trump BUYING a vaccine for the US... in other words for THEM. Trump allegedly offered to buy up the patent to a vaccine to ENSURE that no nation could deny the USA the ability to produce the vaccine.

And they got mad about it...

If it was just them then fine. But it wasn't. It was US media going "How dare Trump buy something for the US?! He's going to let brown countries die!"

Flcentipede 3 points ago +3 / -0

the whole story was fake.

Yep, completely fake as usually.

Pretty sure it was an effort to drive up stock prices.

BTW, the Bill Gates Foundation is the second largest shareholder in CureVac.

Here is a link to my post yesterday with links to the articles and other evidence of fake news: https://thedonald.win/p/FMA6slbG/german-press-claim-that-potus-ma/c/

JudicialDredd 5 points ago +5 / -0

So not only is Trump not affiliated with it, the king of silicon Valley invests in cure vac?! Well I haven't seen anything about that on reddit or CNN. Weird...

AslanFan 2 points ago +2 / -0

And I had to edit...I put "major" shareholder, but the foundation is actually the 2nd largest shareholder.

In this article: https://www.manager-magazin.de/unternehmen/artikel/curevac-donald-trump-lockt-tuebinge-impfstoff-firma-und-forscher-in-usa-a-1305445.html, search for "Gates", then pull that paragraph out for a Google translate.

It says:

"Hopp holds 80 percent of the shares in CureVac through its Dievini Hopp BioTech Holding. The second largest shareholder is the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which, together with CureVac, develops vaccines against a range of infectious diseases. "I am committed to the goal of protecting all people from infections and to better treat and cure patients worldwide and in the best case, as well as my intention to create sustainable innovative infrastructure and jobs in Germany," said Hopp."

Of course it's fake news. Why the hell would the government all for exclusive rights?

Absolutely ridiculous, and the motions on Reddit eat that shit up.

Unfortunately the fake news is extremely effective. People read the headline, file it under "Trump is Hitler," and never look back. The media should have to rescind their false reporting as much as they purported it, otherwise fake news will continue to control half the country.

Says right there in the article, "CureVac publicly denied any takeover or acquisition attempts". Follow the source chain one link deeper, and it's "an unidentified German government source". ie: literally anybody employed by the German government with no proof of authority, no reputation of accuracy, or even an indication of insider knowledge.

They knew it was fake news before publishing. Disgusting.

Why the hell would the U.S. need it when their is an American Company that uses similar technology, and is way ahead of them.

The commie media trying to do ANYTHING to stop the TRUMP TRAIN

PhD_in_everything 3 points ago +3 / -0

Lol, duh. Trump probably only asked for access to their entire IP so that US researchers wouldn't have to start from 0. Leave it to the Fake News Media to transform that entirely.

How to make a leftist post: Take whatever Trump says, and turn up the Machiavelli 1000%

Hi, I'm from Germany so sorry for my bad english but i think i can provide some background on the subject.

Dietmar Hopp, a german billionaire who ones big parts of CureVac and the newspaper that was the first to report the fake news. He also owns a small football club and gave this club enough money to play for the highest titles. Distortion of competition. For this reason, he is an enemy of many football fans and shortly before the corona crisis they started an anti Hopp campaign.

Therefore my guess: Hopp or someone from his environment started this fake news to stage Hopp as a great philanthropist who fights against the "bad orange man" and to improve Hopp's reputation in this way. Disgusting and not one german news outlet brought a correction.

If the government had a dollar for every lie the media told in since the election, we'd have paid down the debt by now.

But seriously, they need to be sued or fined for every misleading article or lie they print. That will make them straighten their shit out real quick.

teh_dahnald 2 points ago +2 / -0

it didn't make sense. i would understand trying to license the technology so we get up to speed with domestic manufacture right away
