I'd go for something simple, like "As you know, it started in Wuhan China. You're not reporting that because you're Fake News, but everyone knows this is where it started, so seems like that's ok. Next question".
But that's ok because it's on the behalf of the left. They are allowed to be praised and supported from foreign sources - in fact Socialism is a foreign movement altogether, and it even was every single time! It's literally like a mutating virus and certainly more lethal and harmful than the Chinese Virus.

Except his asking the question with the phrase "ching chong" would induce convulsions and sputtering "REEEEAAAAYYYYCISM!"
