My sister lives in a moderate size town on the east coast, and I live in a moderate size town on the west coast. A significant number aren't sick here, but the stores have been ransacked for basics like toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc, and so many places have closed down. My school just cancelled finals completely, and is closed next term.

So I asked my sister how it's like where she is and she said it's fine. Everyone going on like normal. She can still buy toilet paper, cleaning supplies, and nothing is closed down.

Only difference I can see is she lives in a more conservative area. I live in a liberal shithole.

There have been vans of people from San Antonio (Socialist Texas) driving into the small towns and buying up all of the TP, etc from their Dollar Stores. The small towns had to put a limit on the out of town hoarders. They had none of this before the scavengers showed up.

Holy shit, they already closed school next semester? What school?

No finals = no final grade = no credit for the class, right? So, full refund?

University of Oregon.

They gave teachers the option to do online finals using Canvas, but teachers weren't prepared, and are tech illterates, so they just gave us our final grades based in grades up until finals. Fortunately I already had A's and B's, but I feel bad for people looking to utilize the finals to pass.

And the school is closed, but classes are going to be online next term. But no one knows what to do. One of my teachers emails us daily asking what she should do lol, and one of my classes is a language class, which isn't really suited for online. We'll see what happens.
