The government isn’t the answer. Our ancestors knew this and saved resources knowing that no one would bail them out. I’m very disappointed in the general population’s inability to stand on their feet and make rational decisions. Public education and coddling are to blame. When a true worldwide emergency happens there won’t be a bailout or handout and the ones who haven’t saved resources won’t be helped. I will be called selfish at which point but my personal responsibility will be what helps my family survive.

Agree, not selfish but wise. If you can’t help yourself how can you help a neighbor? Imo same applies to love too. Life’s never been (fair) nature doesn’t seem to be designed that way. I think anyone who wants to signal their virtue start by taking care of you and your family and that will lead to helping others ( I think? ). My hope is that we can learn from this as a nation. I’m in ca and realize way to many here depend on the government. I guess will find out which philosophy regarding how our government should work plays out. Ogdt , u won’t be considered selfish in my view . I’d see u as selfless for not taking resources from those whom we’re never taught self responsibility...kids DONT trust marxists. Hyenas are ( just) in there view of the world.
