"Hey, I'ma rape this bitch...Can't, I'll get shot." "Hey, I'ma murder this motherfucker...Can't I might get shot back." "Hey, I'ma break into this dude's house and rob 'em dry - Can't, I might get shot."

Guns, weapons - A great crime deterrant.

Here is a question. Has an armed, trained, civilian in the USA ever been forcibly raped? I'm sure there is a situation where someone has been disarmed but I would assume that an armed woman defends herself at an incredibly high rate. If anyone knows of a news article that mentioned a woman being raped while carrying, I would very much like to read it.

Long story short....gun grabbers want women to be raped.

4
NewVoatAccountName 4 points ago +4 / -0

There's a reason why the idiom "When seconds count, police are only minutes away" is so well-known.

Everyone inherently KNOWS that police can't be everywhere at all times to prevent crime. At the best of times, you might get lucky and be helped by a nearby police officer shortly after the crime starts. However, in most circumstances, they're only there AFTER THE FACT, and they may not even be able to solve the crime or bring anyone to justice for it.

You can only count on yourself to protect you and yours in an emergency, and the more America starts accepting that fact, the more we can return to a general sense of peace (as the violent ones get locked up in jail, the crazy ones get placed in mental wards, and both get treated the best we can to potentially help them escape the criminal cycle by rejoining society as a stable friendly citizen).

14
lerm4comptroller 14 points ago +14 / -0

There was a study done on this way back in the day (that they will never try to replicate) that basically said this. It was among attempted rapes vs. "completion" (shudder) and among the girls that were packing they very rarely managed to get to "go all the way" (gag). We're talking like 2%.

Seriously ladies: if this is an actual real concern for you, like you live in a dangerous area or work late at night, strongly consider concealed carry (then move and get a better job). While rape will always be a thing, it doesn't have to happen to you.

A tazer can be stopped by thick clothing/skin.

Pepper spray and mace need to be aimed directly at the aggressor's eyes/nose for the greatest effect, and even then, some people can still be so pumped up on adrenaline that they keep moving forward almost unhindered.

Melee weapons like collapsible batons depend on the strength of the wielder to be most effective, and women are statistically weaker than men on average.

A gun is the most equal form of self-defense: it won't stop everyone, but it can let a small woman defeat a mountain-sized man in a fight, and it incentivizes criminals to find other targets or just give up their criminal intentions.

Barbieblonde 24 points ago +24 / -0

When I went to get my first AR-15 at Cabellas a few years ago, the clerk at the counter scoffed at me that as a woman, that "gun" was too much for me and I needed a pistol. "What do you need with an AR anyway?"

Me : "Well as a single woman living in a big white house on a hill with enough acreage so no one will hear me scream... its the stalkers I have on video vandalizing my cars and house in daylight AND at 3 A.M.... after putting up Trump banners and an American Flag..."

That was when an O.E.F. veteran Marine took over my purchase and walked me out to my Lexus and apologized for what the older guy had said. "The AR-15 is perfect for you because it is light, powerful and if someone sees you with it in your hands and they keep coming at you... you will need an AR-15."

I bought some 20 round pmags a barrel mounted flashlight and high tech ear protection. My real inspiration for getting an AR was watching Keanu Reeves run one at Taran Tactical on YouTube. He is such a little guy and that gun was a breeze for him to employ around obstacles at close range. My kind of rifle... my home defense musket for the modern China Flu reality we are all stuck in.

12
MadMaxUSMC 12 points ago +12 / -0

too much to handle? I think my pellet gun kicks about as much.

11
Barbieblonde 11 points ago +11 / -0

Tried one at a range before purchase and I was surprised at how little recoil there was. Loud yes, but it so much fun to shoot with an optic. Had a blast making smiley faces on the target like they did in that old Lethal Weapon movie.

3
NewVoatAccountName 3 points ago +4 / -1

Just watch your hands/belongings around the ejection port and/or the barrel, particularly after firing a large number of rounds: the energy of a fired round has to go somewhere (Newton's Third Law), and if the AR-15 is light with little recoil, that means a lot of the energy is leaving the gun as VERY HOT air.

3
Barbieblonde 3 points ago +3 / -0

Thanks for the tip! I watch Demolition Ranch and always look for what Matt has done as a guide to mostly what not to do with a firearm. He's burned himself quite a few times touching hot barrels.

Though his recent upload of pouring different adhesives and even concrete down the barrel of cheap HiPoint pistols he hates was eye opening. They can't be killed!

The multi-position stock is what sold me. Whenever I shot traditional wood stock rifles at the range when offered while looking for what to buy, they were horrible, I could not get in the proper shoulder position and could barely reach the forend with my left hand. The AR feels custom right out of the box, one click back from fully collapsed and I tuck in perfectly.

6
MSG1000 6 points ago +9 / -3

There isn’t a difference.

7
Imransgarage 7 points ago +10 / -3

Sure there is, the founding fathers created an enduring symbol of liberty around the world and the greatest nation ever.

Libertarians have governed at most a couple of church basket think tanks.

4
lerm4comptroller 4 points ago +5 / -1

They're all about the founding fathers... Right until you bring up what the founding fathers actually did and said. Gotta love lolbertarians: their heart is in the right place, but they could never bring themselves to do the deeper reading that might contradict their favorite pieces and quotes.

In the meantime, they endorse unrestricted abortion and oppose the death penalty.

If anyone has any evidence that any of the founding fathers would stand for that, or can even argue sanely that it's the logical conclusion of our founding principles, I'd really love to see it. I can't imagine Washington arguing any of that, but if someone can find it in one of his letters maybe we could take it more seriously...

2
MSG1000 2 points ago +3 / -1

Founding Fathers = Libertarians. The word has been sullied by three kinds of people. Assholes who lie about what it’s about, through the 90’s and early 2000’s they made it out to be anarchy. Faux libertarians, the equivalent of RINOs and neo- cons, who just want to smoke pot and are leftists otherwise. Then the blind ones, the people who are married to certain methodologies and lose sight that they have yet to, cannot or can only accomplish our end goal of max freedom under certain conditions.

3
Imransgarage 3 points ago +3 / -0

No they were Americans. And they and their ideals created the greatest and longest-enduring period of freedom and prosperity ever.

So I have no idea why we need a new ideology that claims to be better than what we started with, yet it hasn't done diddly squat but say "hey look at me I'm just as good as the real thing!!!"

1
MSG1000 1 point ago +3 / -2

LOL, you just don’t get it. There isn’t a damn difference. Libertarianism has existed since our nation’s founding. It is our founding ideology, and it brought us America. Since then we’ve been on a slow march towards bigger and bigger government.

Around 1900 progressivism took hold and their American Traditionalist opposition were referred to as Liberal. Then Progressives co-opted the term which caused the original liberals to have no choice but to come up with a new term, Libertarian.

But both Democrats and Republicans, Conservatives and Progressives, were all infected with the idea that “they knew best”. Thus the country stopped listening to anything else till recently.

The fact that the Globalist Cabal have spent so much time and effort demonizing; subverting and misrepresenting Libertarianism tells me everything about how big of a threat it is to them.

1
Imransgarage 1 point ago +1 / -0

No you don’t get it.

America existed since the founding and libertarians want to say they’ve improved the model when they haven’t done shit.

MSG1000 1 point ago +1 / -0

LOL, what a load of crock. We never claimed to improve shit, that’s fucking fake news.

1
WhateverNecessary 1 point ago +1 / -0

Is taxation theft?

1
MSG1000 1 point ago +1 / -0

Government is evil but a necessary one which means it and everything connected to it must exist at a bare minimum and only for functions that a private entity truly cannot handle either reliably or impartially.

That means tax is not theft inherently, the disaster known as the Articles of Confederation proved we need a minimum level of federal government as our Constitution outlines and that requires money from somewhere. However, tax becomes theft when it is either based on something the federal, state and/or local government have no jurisdiction over OR when it targets citizens unequally.

That means most forms of tax that exist today are theft; death tax, property tax, income tax, etc. As they’re designed to ensure that businesses and estates are hard to inherit and that nobody truly owns their land. Income is abominable as it demands different percentages person to person and because it by nature makes a distinction on how money was earned. Such as by income or capitol gains.

There are only ways in my mind of Constitutionally funding our federal government but in my mind both have their flaws and pitfalls. Either the old way of Tariffs which was pretty much the entirety of it before the 1900’s but that would also tie the functioning of our federal government to our ability to trade with other nations.

Or a true Flat Tax that is based on total money accumulated in any way shape or form over a year and that does not change percentages, rules, definitions, etc. for any class, race, religion, political bent, age, sexual persuasion and any other form of prejudicial bullshit self-righteous assholes can come up with. But the downside here is that we have established the right of the fed gov that they can take portions of acquired money.

That’s not libertarian that’s founding fathers right there

Same difference. Founders were libertarians. The closer we get to their ethos the better.

1
WhateverNecessary 1 point ago +1 / -0

Libertarians = individual liberty before everything, including nation and society

Founders = individual liberty concurrent with nation and society

...

Libertarians = minimize government as much as possible because it always harms individual liberty

Founders = specific limitations on government to protect specific rights

...

Libertarians = coercion is bad, people are free and should do what they want as long as they don't hurt others

Founders = coercion is good, people are citizens with obligations to take care of their society and uphold its morality

1
CQVFEFE 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes but defining libertarians in that way oversimplifies too much and alienates the majority of libertarians who know they don't believe that way, but rather align with the Founders' version

1
WhateverNecessary 1 point ago +1 / -0

Is there like a massive secret society of libertarians or something? lol

I know there's some lefty/Marxist leaning libertarians but I don't really count them, I just mean the usual ones that mingle in the conservative circles. Free markets, free trade, muh weed, taxation is theft, etc.

Libertarians are cool but they are totally gay about borders

10
TexasAggie 10 points ago +11 / -1

That's just some fringe idiots. Most of us know full well that open borders plus welfare state equals bankruptcy.

7
lerm4comptroller 7 points ago +7 / -0

Traditionally, they weren't even that gay about borders: they actually believed in strong border security, but unfettered legal immigration with caveats. Basically, if you could buy a house here or had a sponsor they were all about it, but no you can't just jump the border and wander the desert. Which, honestly, strikes me as an almost reasonable compromise at one point in our history (not now: now they have to go back).

Now as a party they are just gay.

4
TheClassicalLiberal 4 points ago +4 / -0

Partially true. But many in the LP have changed their minds about immigration. Since 2016 I think it went from 90-10 open borders to about 60-40. And a lot of that 60% is much softer support than before.

Also a lot of new members, such as me, are openly voicing our opposition to open borders.

3
MSG1000 3 points ago +3 / -0

If you’re talking about the Libertarian Party, they don’t remotely represent all Libertarians. I doubt even near the majority. They’re a joke that serves to disenfranchise the ideology.

FUN FACT—DID YOU KNOW???

The 2nd Amendment could be edited down to just its FINAL 14 WORDS—and would work even BETTER than it currently does!

The right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Simple. Direct. Concise. To the point.

On target.

2
TheClassicalLiberal 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes. The added clause was to give a reason for it - "bring necessary to the security of a free state".

1
CQVFEFE 1 point ago +1 / -0

No other Amendment did they imagine a reason to have to JUSTIFY. Not one.

No one has ever rationally explained what would be lost or how the 2A would be weakened if it were just the final 14 words that describe the right of the people. And it's easy to see why.

Because it would be strengthened, that's why.

THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE...SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED

-1
telepathic_pepe -1 points ago +1 / -2

Those scumbag founding fathers just had to include the "militia" clause so gun grabbers could obfuscate the issue and claim the modern-day militia is actually the police or National Guard

5
Thrasymachus 5 points ago +5 / -0

The tragedy is that the extra wording in fact says very clearly--in the parliance of the time--that the reason for the amendment is to make sure the citizenry can constitute effective scratch infantry (well-regulated refers to drill and discipline in the fighting style of the day). It's saying specifically that citizens should be able to oppose a professional fighting force. AFAIC that means the 2A itself specifies we should be able to own anything. I should have an MG3 and RPG in my closet, you know, in case of trouble.

Most idiots also don't realize that fully-automatic fire has a very specific place on the battlefield; it's not some implicit lethality multiplier. But given the 10 moving boxes clipazine shoulder-thing-that-goes-up understanding we observe among politicians (as well as their nefarious, duplicitous intent), it's no surprise we are in the situation we're in.

2
Isolated_Patriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

It kinda does mean that, but the 2A does not grant the militia the right to bear arms, it grants the people the right to bear arms, because the government must have a militia/military.

"As long as the government has shooty boys, the people should have guns too."

The first half of the 2A is merely establishing the reason the actual clause exists. And it's absolute bullshit that anyone ever tried (let alone succeeded) to claim otherwise.

CQVFEFE 2 points ago +2 / -0

The people themselves were the militia. Every able-bodied person in a community is supposed to be equipped and fit for fighting, at all times. That's why the first half of the amendment is so important.

It's not just a right, it's a necessity.

1
deleted 1 point ago +1 / -0
1
WhateverNecessary 1 point ago +1 / -0

I've read them, where would the right to bear arms have been questioned? That's something we inherited from English law, why George trying to disarm the colonies still made him a tyrant even when we were rightful subjects.

There was debate about how important militias are, usually versus how dangerous it is to keep a standing army, but when they do talk about "the militia" in general they absolutely mean the people. That's why the 2nd Amendment's the only one with that kind of structure.

7

3
Thrasymachus 3 points ago +3 / -0

While grabbers obviously won't engage in an honest debate, most conditioned NPCs don't realize that the price of modern weapons preclude their use in shenanigans.

If I become super successful I would happily buy and maintain one shiny, well-oiled (and track-tensioned) Abrams, with some local buddies as the scratch crew, and we'd join up with whatever other mechanized bros were around a few times a year for exercises. Nobody would be harmed (except anyone stupid enough to fuck with the United States), industries would benefit, and a good time would be had by all.

You don't commit crimes in a ten million dollar warfighting machine.

0
ronburgandy 0 points ago +1 / -1

Funny how all the tanks and fighter jets in the world couldn't beat a bunch of vietnamese rice farmers and illiterate goat herders hiding in caves with nothing more than rusty AKs and pickup trucks. It's almost like military force multiplication equipment is primarily meant for fighting other nations instead of a guerrilla fighting force.

1
Peace-maker 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think it’s less that we couldn’t and more that our leaders weren’t willing to commit to the kind of overwhelming use of force that a war declaration brings. Accepting high levels of civilian deaths could’ve meant much quicker, more decisive victories in both conflicts but at the cost of mass condemnation of the international community.

Friend of mine posted a pic of his "self-quarantine desk setup" the other day (it was pretty awesome actually). In it I noticed there was a shotgun and asked for another pic. Thing was awesome. Double barrel, extra shells down each side, red dot, irons, even had double... Bayonet spikes? I don't know what they're specifically called. Thing looked like it was out of a zombie movie. I noticed his AR in the background of that pic and asked about it. Then a European member chimes in asking the age old question of "why do you need a 60 round barrel mag". I wasn't quite sure how to answer it and after a minute of back and forth went with "because we can". Unfortunately that's not good enough for any other country as they don't have the same rights as us Americans, but it is good enough for me.

Their ideology and animosity to businesses boggles the mind.

Edit: I could see the rationale of suspending (deferring) evictions due to extreme, specific circumstances on a case by case level. I have a feeling people just aren’t going to pay rent in April since there will be no consequences until Late May.

I have a feeling petty theft will rise significantly and many local businesses will be FUCKED since they pretty much have to close until May.

The meme misspelled, "Liberal-tarian."

Liberal-tarians support open borders.

Liberal-tarians support faggot marriage, instead of opposing government intrusion into the religious ordinance.

So, the answer is, "I'm ZERO Liberal-tarian," because I'm conservative.
