You’d think that they could at least implement a system in which your CCW allows you to bypass the background check.
Drivers License, says convicted felon on it if that is the case, no gun, everyone else, good to go.

There is a reason for that. Probably the sudden demand, but this is why UBC sucks. If the system is down, that's their problem, not yours. Its a scam. They don't even prosecute people who lie on it. They have no motivation to keep it up.
Exactly. Any such system by law (I don't want it, but its there) should have a "we get back to you in a half hour or it's yours" policy.
In Oregon, the normal weekend system is something like 60-90 being processed in the queue. On Saturday it was up to ~350 at the peak.
This is from a friend working in a gunshop (I went down to buy an AR-15 bolt as a gift for a buddy).
AFAIK here after 3 (I think?) days you get the gun but I believe the request needs to be initiated and this may prevent initiation.
