I hadn’t been to Reddit in a bit but headed there for some local Coronavirus content. It seemed like the local subs had a LOT more promoted posts than before.
I think they didn’t realize how many people came to Reddit for r/TD and also participated in other subs. With everyone here now, their overall views are probably way off even what they expected by killing r/TD. Either that or they thought they could get us to stick around.
Regardless, it seems like they’re having to spam out ads to compensate.

Technically reddit knew exactly how many people on T_D participated elsewhere on the site, but they don't care because they are paid more by China than they make from advertisers to do whatever China says.

I’ve noticed the same thing, regarding the ads. I thought maybe it was my imagination.
I check reddit so infrequently now (once a day, maybe, or every other day), that reddit developments barely even register.

I was a member of Reddit for over over 14 years and I participated in several subreddit, but not anymore.
6 for me. Got there right before China. Was my favorite place online. They can burn in hell now.
Back around 9-10 years ago is when reddit sold out; there was what seemed like an overnight shift from centrist to leftist ideology. Obama was the new God, Republicans were suddenly evil, et al.
Then it got even worse with China.
I remember when reddit was a simple meme factory. Rage comics. User generated content instead of all these hail corporate posts. Civil towards others- and actually accepting.
That time seems like a fart in the wind at this point.
I got hip to reddit from DailyPaul. The owner was shuttering and told the Ron Paul folks to go to reddit. So I guess it's been since 2012 since I started going there.
When I first got to reddit it was still majority libertarian minded folks. Free speech, free markets and Ron Paul was the man thee.
I still view the /all every now and then. Then quickly change to .win

With a lot more people viewing, they wouldn’t need as many ads to get the same number of views per ad. Fewer viewers means they need to run more ads to keep the ad views and revenue constant.
Whatever you think you're accomplishing, the only thing you're doing is supporting reddit by giving them clicks.

I was always a lurker on Reddit in basically every sub. I contribute a tiny amount to a bunch of video game subs, but just upvote in TD. I used to spend 45-75 mins a day or more on Reddit, 70% TD.
I've only been there for the gaming subs twice since the demodding.

We should expand .win to all sorts of topics.. and maybe even allow people to make their own topics and then choose moderators.. It could be like one giant forum for the Internet where we would have crazy ideas like uncensored free speech.
I think you’re right. I will visit reddit but I do not upvote anymore. I’ve noticed what seems like obvious persuasion posts and comments... now more than ever. Reddit is a tool to persuade and nothing else. And it failed at that, hence why we were banned
