It has nothing to do with 5k people getting sick and everything to do with the fact that it has shut down our economy (rightfully or wrongfully is debatable but not the point right now).
I have to wonder if this is a panicked fed govt. ploy to prevent the President from pushing the payroll tax cut. Most people are going to be more excited about $1000 than the thousands they would get through a payroll tax relief. The last thing the govt. wants is for the people to realize just how much of their money is taken out of their paycheck.
once the hype and panic is over we will rocket back to the top, well before november, to not acknowledge the silly Chi-Bola is to die a terrible political death, it sucks but the fixing is being done and will be over soon, at which point the globalists and democrat cunts will have nothing left. They will cease to exist as an opposition force.
My thoughts exactly. This is immoral. The source of that $1K is us taxpaying citizenry. Our gov steals our money, funds itself to perpetuate that enterprise, then gives us our money back at a net loss. Furthermore, that $1K is redistributed from our fellow countrymen, which violates their God-givrn right to property and so also our constitution! Instead of our gov spending more billions, and us citizens demanding the same, we should cut our spending in order to not leave our children so indebted. That's my 2¢.
Because millions of people are going to be out of work for weeks, maybe months?
Every waiter and bartender in America is out of work right now. Those people often live paycheck to paycheck.
Chefs, hoteliers, personal trainers, retailers, barbers and countless other professions can't earn income because of public safety regulations.
I say just give it to those affected, not the people who can work from home like myself. Prove 6 months of job history. Boom.
What about someone who started a new job 3 months ago?
What about people classified as independent contractors, which is very common in the so called "Gig Economy?"

People are going to go weeks without getting paychecks, that's the problem
Because it's my damn money. Next question.
I have no idea, I dont like it. People are already buying massive amounts of shit.
Good lord they are?! I shit every day, where do I find these buyers?!

but it's giving oxygen and validating that ridiculous thought.
i hope this reporting is false and i hope trump is not the originator of this idea on their part.
There are a hell of a lot more than 5000 people affected. I'm sure there are more than 5000 restaurant workers out of work in NYC alone.

Get a supply of chloroquine to every man woman and child in the US and get back to work. Stop the panic!
The economic engine of the US is gdp, not deficit spending. Give gdp some gas and put it in gear!
