I work in healthcare in Minnesota as well, so far the response has been good. The only problem I see is the surge of panicked people going to triage with no or minor symptoms. There are not that many bad cases, and our ICUs are not being overwhelmed. The people demanding tests are adding to the panic.

Thank you! Please tell us how you handle these people who "demand" to be tested.

As I understand it, some 91% of tests return negative. Meaning we shouldn't ask to be tested unless:

  1. we suspect being exposed
  2. we develop symptoms
  3. symptoms don't respond to anything we normally do, persist, and get worse.

THEN it's time to get tested. (Being part of a high risk group would change this)

Does that seem reasonable to you?

Please stay safe, healthy and active!

I was talking with someone today who was upset they were denied testing because they had a stuffy nose. They were sure they had the ChiComVirus.

Should have told them you would have been more than happy to screen them for TDS.
