I really don't understand why we're watching the world economy go into freefall for social distancing when we could just quarantine those vulnerable to the disease. This only ends when every single person is immune to the disease, so wouldn't it make sense to quarantine those who could die from the disease and then let it run its course? It's incredibly frustrating.

Know what's even more frustrating, though? That's still an option.

I think the problem is that the vulnerable need to be fed. They need medication. They need to be washed. That requires younger people, with kids, to go in there and do it. And no one I've seen anywhere can reliably say exactly how to stop transmission.

I hate overreactions as much as you. I think they are trying to protect the healthcare system as best they can with the info they have.

My kids come home. They are unaffected carriers. They give to me. I go make sure my vulnerable oldster takes his 5pm dose. Now, oldster needs an ICU bed, and that seems to be a very limiting factor.

It is very frustrating.
