Coronavirus might have eventually made Bernie a more potent candidate. When there is fear and uncertainty, the idea of big government taking care of everything, guaranteed income, etc might be appealing to more Americans.

What is not appealing at a time of uncertainty is incompetence. Biden’s cognitive decline will be absolute kryptonite when what is needed is decisive command of the facts. Just because he is “angry dementia” rather than “passive dementia” will not save his candidacy.
