Lawyer: Man killed by officer was asleep when police fired
- Maryland
- Police swat serving a search warrant
- Man was "linked" to 3% group, per police
- Police said they returned fire
- Lawyer says man and girlfriend hit while in bed, but waiting on police bodycam footage
- No body in house (man, pregnant girlfriend, brother, or parents) had criminal record
- Weapons recovered from house
This could turn out the be a justified shooting from the police side, but that the the police were hunting for guns because the state forbids them in kinda dumb.
Waiting for more details on story before making a final judgement either way, but thought the story needed some attention.
Spez: some more relevant details:
"No knock" warrants kill. They need to be banned.
I think cowardice needs to be as serious a crime for them as for the military, and it needs to be enforced by an outside agency in each county. Just look at how the cops didn't get hysterically violent when the Bundy's friends showed up when they were first going to be arrested-- most of their bad behavior would go away if there were actual standards and penalties for bad behavior.
If they turn over the bodycam footage it might be justifiable.
If the bodycam footage is "missing" or "was lost" well then... you know they have no inhibitions about murdering you while your sleeping next to your significant other and unborn child.
"in the ensuing gun battle, officers were not able to activate their body cameras prior to taking defensive actions."
All of them?
"Unfortunately yes."
That article is scary. Who cares if he is the III%'s? It is legal to assemble whether they like it or not. Who cares if he had some sort of forum site? Its free speech! I would be interested to know why he wasnt allowed to have firearms, but had multiples. Doesnt seem like the guy who would buy black market pieces.
So, seems MD bans possession of "Assault Weapons". Man posted on Facebook a pic of himself with one of these 'forbidden' items. Police seem to have been executing Search Warrant to verify he did not possess a weapon of mass destruction.

That is utter horse shit. We live in a police state, and its starting to get out of hand.
Look into this. This man was assassinated. He was building a tool that power didn't want to see the light of day.
It is being reported that he was spinning up a tech startup so this theory has weight imho
" He described Lemp as a libertarian who frequented the 4chan and Reddit message boards, sites popular with internet trolls."
He was probably one of us.
Cops need to face prosecution just the same as the rest of us. They do not deserve special treatment
Along with Bill Barr, who loves them.
Fuck the police ... they will obey whatever laws they are told to enforce without question
This story dropped out really fast. Don’t even see much mention of it in groups like VCDL anymore.
It’s not kinda dumb!
It was an assasination.
Red flag laws seem to be really good for murdering lawful gun owners in their own homes. NO MORE! Red flag laws gots to go!
Fuck maryland.
Anyone coming to take guns should get them one bullet at a time
