Did anyone else notice this? According to the US Government there is no such thing as an Hispanic. I just filled out the on-line census (you know, the thing). They ask what race you are, and of the 20 or so options, they specifically say there is no Hispanic category. (Lots of Asian alternatives though.)

Just consider the implications of that... This is the government's statistical data source.

It’s an ethnicity, not a race.

I did mine late last week and I swear I remember a whole page on my hispanic-ness. (or Latin American or whatever they called it, we know what they mean)

I was also highly disappointed to find only male and female gender choices. As a gender non-confirming species-fluid Labradorxir I am distraught that I was not able to complete the form.

Did mine online as well. If i recall correctly, one whole section was dedicated to asking if I was hispanic and, if so, what variety.

Mine said hispanic was nota race, and it isn't, but it wanted to know the origins, e.g. Mexico, of every person in your household. I could only put "northern Europe" since I'm not sure beyond 1865.
