I just had a discussion with an anti Trump friend. He asked me why I can get over "all of Trump's moral failings". I said, bc he's a King David figure to me. Morally flawed but the man for the job at hand.... I'm not even religious but the universes seems to bend to Trump.

Did you ask your friend what moral failings he/she assigns to POTUS? Sounds as if you accept the premise since you excused whatever moral failings your friend did mention.
What would you say those moral failings are?
My point is why allow the Enemy to establish a false reference? You say POTUS is morally flawed...how so? As mere mortals we are all sinners, yes...but you imply failings beyond that, can you describe what those are?
Again, my point is merely to illustrate you allow the Enemy to define parameters/establish references not in evidence. Would you consider the moral failings of POTUS greater or lesser than the 'average' American Citizen's failings?
