I homeschool my youngest. My oldest was homeschooled and is graduating college this semester. I cant imagine doing anything differently.

With online classes and pre-set curriculum, you dont have to have great teaching skills. The biggest challenge is managing the school days and getting your child to respect you as teacher.

The problem with mass homeschooling though is that the govt will eventually make it illegal. Anything that threatens group think will be eliminated and there wont be enough people to care enough to fight it.
