People turning blue. Lungs completely destroyed. Healthcare workers dying by the dozens right next to the original victims.
The "disaster" that everyone is losing their shit over in Italy is orders of magnitude better than that.
Should we cancel large public gatherings like parades while this sweeps through? Sure.
But actually shutting down all business across the united states? I'm sorry, but if you believe we should do that, you're a fucking asshole. More will die from the economic fallout than the virus could ever kill.

They've been using deaths/known cases for the Wu-Flu and deaths/presumed total cases for the common flu.
