I'm passionate about animal keeping. I have a dog, 3 cats, boa constrictor, scorpion, chameleon, and six tarantulas, and in a few months I'll also have a bullsnake. Once I buy a house I can get my (3) aquariums back. My long term goal is to breed endangered species of aquatic life or reptiles for conservation, and also breed snakes for the pet trade.
I love pro football. NFL, XFL, IFL, etc. I don't care. I just enjoy watching football with my girlfriend. I'm also a gun nerd, and for those of you in the know, I have taken pictures of my toes holding my Glock brand Glawk Fawty problem solver. My next gun purchase is going to be a Zastava because my girl is Serbian. I'm trying to get into hockey because it's my girl's favorite sport, and baseball, so I have something in the spring.

Even as someone who really enjoys sports I sort of hold the same opinion on school sports. Also bear in mind I am someone who is extremely shitty at all sports.
I hate to use Europe as an example of good things, but I really like how in a lot of places there the sports are local clubs. You want to play sports, great! The local sports club has all kinds of sports you might like. If you are good and serious about it there are ways to go that route and if you want to just have fun with your friends that's good too. It's disconnected from education. I also get the idea that college is more education focused and not every kid growing up dreaming of the upcoming years of a drinking party accompanied by gender studies courses.

I wish I lived near the ocean. I had a saltwater tank where I grew corals back at my parents' place, and when I went scuba diving in Belize, I loved seeing my pets in the wild.

Huge hockey fan here of all levels. If it will help you get into hockey go to some games live. I've been to games of many different levels and they are all fun. Also like baseball and a bit of racing.
Second would be travel. I have little interest in the trendy exotic places so I'm always explaining myself why I visit weird places. Favorite things to do while traveling outside of just roaming are hiking (no extreme stuff, just some relaxation and fresh air) and things like war museums. I'm a kid in a candy shop if I get to see a bunch of different planes, spaceships, tanks, battleships, submarines, guns, etc.
So this virus mess has hit my fun activities quite hard. At home it's video games and movies or just tinkering with whatever project I come up with. I'm going to at least get a cool gun and learn to shoot it properly once this all blows over.
My brother was a goalie, so it isn't a matter of disliking hockey. My only issue with hockey is that there are too many games. Because there are so many games, each individual games has less weight. Plus, it's tough for me to make myself available for every game. I'm trying though. My girlfriend is trying to get into football for me, so I'm going to watch hockey with her.
Once the NHL is back up, we're going to a game for a local team, even if they're not her team. She's a Yotes fan because she grew up in AZ.
There are a ton of games. I have that issue with baseball and honestly it's fallen down for me over the years because there's just too much going on--and it's much worse than hockey. I can see that appeal with football and I've gone up and down in football interest before and it's yet to stick.
I grew up in hockey hating country and once I got into it later I really think a lot of those people would love it if they ever gave it a chance. That's why I always encourage people to go to games if they haven't.
I live in a hockey town, so I'm definitely pro-hockey. It's going to just take real focused commitment to get REALLY into it. My firm being into it helps. Thankfully I have a spare sweater for my team that by girlfriend can wear.

They do a annual campout to look for different types of creatures, and this year they're doing rattlesnakes, which are one of my favorites. Part of it is she's a Slav, and apparently they don't really do the dog thing, so it's partially a culture shock for her. Plus dogs just aren't as clean as her cats are. She loves my dog, but she hates DOGS. I think in a few years she'll come around though.
