I REALLY want to know your thoughts on the stock market, if you are investing (or not), why, and any other opinion you may have.

The hysteria is making people sell off and that is what really means taking a loss. Stay the course - - our market will recover.

This! Yes, this! I haven't sold shit! Going to keep buying daily, not waiting for a bottom. Buy, buy, and more buy.

I know, but think about the upcoming bottom territory. Call options will be magical!

We have come back from every single crisis in this country, this is no different, and will happen faster, stop listening to fear mongering news. Do your part and all will be back to normal in a couple of months. This is moving at lighting speed.

Wise words, indeed.

We will have cry baby mellinials that haven't had to do shit for shinola, whining for a month, that they can't go to the Apple store, fuck'em. By some flour, eggs. You can make your own sourdough, which can actually sustain you unlike store bought bread. And buy ammo!

Basics and comfort food! Yes!

Drgreygoose02 3 points ago +3 / -0

Buy,buy,buy!

We are doing that! It's fun!

Our 401K is down but it went up so much since 2017 that the damage is minimal. Hubby just bought coca cola stocks and we are not well off. My cousin whose hubby died in 2010 n she received 3 mil for wrongful death has lost a lot but I told her not to touch it! It will bounce back!

jerryriggs1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, please convince her!

Markets are down, invest. Also invest in precious metals such as gold, silver, and brass. :)

2
jerryriggs1 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

What about crypto?!

2
Don-O-Mite 2 points ago +2 / -0

Meh. Its pretty volatile and still not widely accepted. Id rather buy ammo than cryptocurrency.

2
jerryriggs1 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I would like to buy both! Maybe one with the other, lol!

2
Don-O-Mite 2 points ago +2 / -0

Then 2Acoin is for you! https://www.2acoin.org/

2
jerryriggs1 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Market volume was less than $20 total, lol. Sounds fun, so I might buy some. You never know... Who would've thought the events of this week would have transpired?

2
Don-O-Mite 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, thats the widely accepted part that all crypto suffers from. This is obviously a niche coin and wont reflect the wider situation.

The main place I have seen to use 2Acoin is gun shows, although you often cant buy guns/ammo with it. You are usually limited to parts/accessories; at least that has been my experience thus far.

I can't wait to read this. Thanks for the link!

I think the stock market has gone down.

jerryriggs1 [S] 0 points ago +1 / -1

Correct! Is this effecting you in any way?

2
Belleoffreedom 2 points ago +2 / -0

I have a very American, solid portfolio. It's lost some ground, but it will come back. I have some cash, and I hope to do some buying, after the dust settles and after we start going up from bottom.

jerryriggs1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Timing the bottom is essential.

There are some investor pedes here. All I know is that the fear that is being pushed by the MSM is not entering my house.

1
jerryriggs1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

My wife is buying into it a little, but she is a worry wart.

2
AslanFan 2 points ago +2 / -0

Stop by the bank and make sure you have about $1K on hand (or as much as you can comfortably afford). Have her sock it away, telling her you know she is concerned and want her to be comforted.

Your welcome for the rest of your night!

2
jerryriggs1 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks. That's an awesome idea!

2
jerryriggs1 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes, I know. It's interesting to hear everyone's insight or potential lack thereof. I'm a hobbyist trader and this is just astounding!

mvrak 2 points ago +2 / -0

i put my recent money in walmart. it is doing fine

many things are down, but not everything!

2
satan 2 points ago +2 / -0

This is not financial advice,

I am INCREASING my 401k investment, until such time that the markets recover.

YMMV.

2
jerryriggs1 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Stay the course! We will win.

CovfefeNegro 2 points ago +2 / -0

I moved some stuff around a while back, and my plan is to let that bet ride. I tried to reduce my foreign/tech exposure and invested more in mid-cap holdings here.

The markets are a con game in the sense that you gotta have confidence. If the media convinces you to make a sell the brokers make money, they make money if you buy or sell either way.

I would buy if I had any money, but am already invested. My banker laughed the other day when interest went to 0, said we should take loans to invest and pay them back...KEK!

You haven't lost money until you sell, when this is over the market is gonna rock.

I seriously considered a loan for investing today. I will continue monitoring, attempting to spot the bottom.

2
EpicTrump 2 points ago +2 / -0

Up down up down. Investors are crazy. Have a 401K that I don’t touch, won’t need the money for about a decade. Maybe I’ll live long enough to get it back.

2
jerryriggs1 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Good plan. Yes, there will be a big turnaround. I was saw a list yesterday, of the past meltdowns, and turnaround times, and they all turned around.

2
OneOfMany_MAGA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Pick well with options trading and the big swings can generate significant wealth.

2
keepwinning 2 points ago +2 / -0

great way to lose your pile as well.. be careful!

1
jerryriggs1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm buying while everyone panics.

1
jerryriggs1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, but it's scary territory right now. They're soooo tempting!

2
lustmorden 2 points ago +2 / -0

The advice is always the same... don't take out money and lock in losses. If the stock market completely collapses, we have deeper problems and your money is probably not worth anything anyway.

I made my normal contribution on the 13th when I was paid. I will do the same when I get my next paycheck.

1
jerryriggs1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I will continue to participate in the MAGA bump each Wednesday at 10am.

2
keepwinning 2 points ago +2 / -0

market will recover in 2nd half of the year .. real choppy the next 3-4 months though

1
jerryriggs1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I wonder how the forex guys are faring.

1
bigleaguetrump 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't think we've bottomed out yet, I think the stock market will start to level off when the number of Chinese Flu cases starts to level off. I'm worried we are going to see a huge jump in unemployment due to everything being closed and that will cause a further dip in the stock market when those numbers come out in April. I'm thinking of buying some stocks in the next month or so when we start to see things getting back to normal. Once this virus passes we should see a spike in the markets.

1
jerryriggs1 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think a marked spike, followed by steady gains, especially when Trump wins in November!
