According to a Wash Compost article referencing an estimate from Johns Hopkins University, US hospitals have approximately 160,000 ventilators available.

There are 9,464 cases right now. Only 64 are critical. I can't pretend to know the number of cases that will require ventilators. Even if say 10% of the cases did indeed require a ventilator, the current availability would suffice for 1.6 million cases.

Not a doctor. Can only look at the data.

Here's one other example, Italy has the highest rate of infection per 1,000,000 people in the world. Is near 600 per 1,000,000 people. The US rate is currently at 29 per 1,000,000. Even if the US rate increased to the rate in Italy, we would be dealing with only 1.6 million cases which translates to 5% infection rate.

H1N1 had a 19% infection rate in 2008-2009. Nothing closed down. Business continued.

Oh and even if 10% of those theoretical 1.6 mil transpired, the correct amount of ventilators exist.

In New York they want to build hospitals and take over hotels for the sick. Where are all the sick people?

There are 6,146 hospitals operating in the US. https://www.aha.org/statistics/fast-facts-us-hospitals

Where are all the sick people?

Could it be that CV has already been around for a few months and we are actually near the end of it?

This is been a larger than normal flu season. Are those number already baked in?

Mass testing will do nothing more than continue the narrative. The numbers do not match the reaction.

Elon Musk has volunteered to mass produce ventilators if needed.

80 to 90% of ventilators are constantly in use. 100% of the elderly that went on them in Seattle DIED!

Was announced in Louisiana by Gov yesterday that two more in New Orleans assisted care facility died. One was 92 the other 98.

Data is only useful if its accurate. So my question did this person die of CV or with CV. There is huge difference.

The vast majority of those who have passed are elederly. Something like 40 were connected the original nursing home in WA, correct?

So, the US and world economy has been shut down over these stats.

How many will die when basic services end and there is anarchy?

How many will die from resulting anarchy? That depends on how efficient I am in expending my stock of 5.56.

While I agree with you that currently the numbers don’t match the reaction, your whole argument is based on a hypothetical 10%. This number was pulled out of your ass and it means nothing.

You are correct it is significantly greater than the average. My my figure overstates the impact. Its likely far less.

Check each country's ratio of serious/critical to active cases.
