Isn’t this basically what Trump is proposing, just more money? Trump is playing this perfectly. He now forced the left to decide between Orange Man Bad and doing what they have been telling their constituents they would do for decades. They chose OMB, and are wasting time. They are getting roasted on Twitter. Yangtards are realizing that what they have been asking for, although on a very temporary scale, is being opposed by democrats in Congress, and called for by Trump. How will this play out in November? I think this move will bring more Yangtards and Berniebros over to Trump, as opposed to voting dem or staying home entirely.
I know people hate this stimulus plan, I fucking hate the idea of the government give us our own money, but when it’s them closing our places of work then the government is responsible for helping people deal with that. We wouldn’t be able to if this type of plan was the norm. But Trump taking the position to the left of Democrats, even on just this one single issue, is going to be well worth it. I’d rather some inflation and a little more debt if it means stopping the outbreak and getting Trump for another 4 years, along with possibly the House. We can recover from this, only with Trump though. From a purely political perspective, Trump might have just put the nail in the coffin for this election.
