I was talking with a liberal friend who said he can't fathom voting for Trump as Trump has been the most divisive president ever. I asked how he was divisive and received no answer. So I ask all of you. What reasons are you hearing from friends/family about why they think Trump is divisive? I am willing to bet it's misquotes from CNN like the Charlotsville comments or the "shit-hole" countries comment but I wanted to know if there were more examples.

Edit: In thinking about it more, I think it has to do with the reinforcement theory. They were told Trump is divisive before he was elected by the media which they see as an authority. Now when every talk show host, comedian, movie, comic bashes him, it reinforces the idea that their perception of Trump was correct. There are no facts that he's divisive, but he's perceived that way because he HAS to be or else they were lied to, they were wrong, or they weren't as informed as they thought they were.

He only looks divisive because every gear has been turned to trash him on a daily basis. To edit his quotes without sourcing. To trash his policies without explaining them.

We're in the midst of some of the greatest brainwashing tactics in American history.

"He's not presidential." "He's morally bankrupt." "He's too sensitive." "He has no respect for women." Every time when asked for examples, it's, "Well, I can't think of one off the top of my head, but... "
