I have not followed that. Since its a 'few days' I would think its a case of a left over Obama White House flunky doing it 'for spite'[or on orders]. As you know, or you would not notice this, such Symbols of Office are important visual cues for the viewers. And in the case of too many viewers, the lack of the symbols portends evil things & Orange Man Bad syndrome.

I've seen them change it before, but not normally in the press room.
