was thinking today that i should make a sign that says THANKS in huge letters and stand outside the plate glass window of my local grocery store...those people are in the front line
And they are busting their ass. Those stores have been getting slammed. Has to be a nightmare for those folks. Had an older cashier and thought, she is really putting herself at risk to do this. It's the elderly who are most vulnerable to the Chinese Virus.
I've worked retail before. If people were depending on me stocking the shelves and all I got was a dude holding a cardboard thanks sign in the window I'd steal half the food for myself and quit my job. I hope they are getting 3x their normal wage at least. Grocery outlets business is skyrocketed.
Trump called the national grocery chains and persuaded them to remain open and continue with the same production or more.
Without asking someone working at these stores it is just speculation, but there may be increased pay or bonuses of some sort. Nobody wants to lose their job right now either so I see no problem finding and keeping workers.
Might be the only paycheck some households have right now. God bless them.
