That my concern. A politician does not want to admit they were wrong. But honestly if they were wrong and opened stuff back up and apologized I think most people would understand. Sadly if they discovered they were wrong they will cover up and play this out.
If there were 100,000 infected, this could be a 'good thing'. Why, because that would mean that with '100,000 infected' people aren't flooding the hospitals, people are staying healthy and recovering and the statistics of recovery are also promising. (Not that 100,000 people having a virus is a good thing, but looking at it statistically, could be interpreted as good news).

I was sure that in the press conference that CDC gal and the other guy said they are providing tests and that the data must be reported to CDC so they can tell the American public and post the numbers . They can also use the data to supply resources.
