They probably were. And I dunno why we bother with outrage over this news. Nothing is going to happen to these senators. They will get off with zero penalties. And we aren’t going to hold them accountable as we should.

Boy if only there were a crime for betraying one's country that ended with "eason" and carried the death penalty.

DDG "pelosi insider trading" and you'll see lots of old stories about her insider trading history. Any politician (Pelosi, Feinstein, Loeffler, Inhofe, etc...) found guilty of insider trading needs to be roasted and banned from holding political office for life. I don't care what side of the aisle you sit on.

DearCow 12 points ago +12 / -0

John f Kennedy said that he was very concerned about how much time Nancy Pelosi's father was spending with the mafia.

What I really want to see is not if they sold - but if they've bought since...same goes for media members

BeefyBelisarius 4 points ago +4 / -0

Is that public info? If so, some pede in finance needs to create a mutual fund that bases its holdings on what those inside trading congresscreatures invest in.

did a quick news check this morning and, it turns out it was 2 Republican officials. So you must be wrong! I skimmed past this headline from 3 or 4 places. It was higher than the Chinese Virus.

I got the sarcasm, 'pede, but for those who didn't: It was Feinstein and other Democrats too, but the Fake News "forgot" to mention them.

They ALL did cause they were told mid February what I was telling you all on T_D. Shit was hitting the fan, it was going to get bad.

Absolutely insider trading and these scumbags should feel ashamed about it, but the writing was on the wall.

20
YugeBallsBelieveMe 20 points ago +20 / -0

Yeah no kidding there was zero discussion about this on T_D, we were totally behind the ball, I guess the sham impeachment was still going on though. Fucking fraud democrats

8
MegoThor 8 points ago +8 / -0

T_D had already been neutered on Reddit thanks to the Cuck and his Commie masters.

T_D said it a lot but more in the trend of "Holy shit look at how insane China is being over a virus! Welding people into their apartments!"

But the general vibe on T_D was that it would blow over. Mostly because nobody expected New York and California and Washington to be THIS fucking retarded. They let in Iranians and Chinese!!!!

Patient Zero in NYC is an Iranian woman! Patient Zero in California is a Chinese patient who refused quarantine and went hospital shopping. That's how this shit started.

By lefty states NOT locking down in January.

2
Paradyme 2 points ago +2 / -0

Any links to the patient zeros you mentioned? I haven’t heard that before.

SloppyMichaelMoore83 7 points ago +9 / -2

I still wouldn't be willing to give up my rights or destroy the economy. Because I'm not a little bitch.

-17
EatDirtCommiePinko -17 points ago +1 / -18

I wouldn't mind if you were the only one who paid the price for your stupidity. But because coronavirus doesn't care whether or not you believe it's a giant gubmint conspiracy to take our precious bodily fluids, we all have to suffer because of your dumb shitbird attitude.

9
SloppyMichaelMoore83 9 points ago +11 / -2

I never said it was a government conspiracy. I said people(like you) are little bitches for being so scared of a virus and throwing our rights to the wind and destroying our economy. That's all. Go back to hiding in your house and shitting your pants.

2
f_bastiat 2 points ago +2 / -0

The reality hasn't got to a lot of people on here yet. I think we were all going off the Chinese numbers, and now that we have Italy for a reference, we know we were very very wrong about how bad this is.

1
EatDirtCommiePinko 1 point ago +1 / -0

No, don't you see, anyone who points to the best available statistical evidence and announcements from Donald J. Trump is actually just being a bitch. /s

I can't believe the mods here. It's buried down in that other comment chain, but some jackass is going on about coronavirus having a .005% fatality rate. Jesus tittyfucking christ, mods, do your fucking job and toss these anti-Trump smoothbrains out on their asses.

1
BoughtByBloomberg 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't know anyone with it, but I have friends that work in hospitals whose colleagues have caught it. Like a third of all cases is care homes and medical staff.

1
EatDirtCommiePinko 1 point ago +2 / -1

That's because of the restrictions on testing, not because they're the only ones catching it. There are so few tests available it's impossible to accurately determine just how far it has spread here.

2
BoughtByBloomberg 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nor is there an actual need to do so I might add. If people just avoid coofing on everyone around them and stay indoors if they are sickly we'll all be peachy.

1
EatDirtCommiePinko 1 point ago +2 / -1

Yes, given how widespread it is and the fact that even with the knowledge that a person has coronavirus there's only supportive treatment, the lack of testing is fairly irrelevant prior to trying to open society back up completely.

6
supersecretaccount82 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yeah, honestly I feel like if you were plugged into Reddit at all in January/February you should have known something like this was coming. I mean, Samsung and Korea shutting down supply lines was an early canary and it was pretty widely known on the internet I thought. Regardless of how bad the actual virus is, the idea that it would heavily impact markets wasn't far fetched to the prudent observer.

5
HuggableBear 5 points ago +7 / -2

They ALL did cause they were told mid February what I was telling you all on T_D

So does that mean you're an insider?

This isn't insider trading. Everyone knew this shit was coming, just not to what degree. Insider trading is when you find out information that isn't publicly available. If you were telling us all a month ago to do this, then it's not insider trading.

Not to mention that if this were really what was going on, they wouldn't be moving a million dollars here and there, they'd be moving a lot more. These numbers are small percentages of what these people are worth.

I'm all about nailing insiders to the wall, but this isn't insider trading, it's just smart investing. All of this was known by everyone that was paying attention. Politicians are allowed to invest and place their money with smart people, too.

The difference being that they were TOLD these restrictions were coming. THAT is the insider trading.

But anyone with half a mind was watching anxiously the moment WHO tweeted out ABSOLUTE garbage that should have their ENTIRE funding cut about how "China assures us there is no Human to Human transmission of Covid19!"

That's when I flipped from "It's just a flu" to "Holy fuck what are they covering up?".

If true, they won't be prosecuted. Only Republicans and Trump Supporters/Associates get prosecuted. The DOJ and Barr don't want to appear partisan now do they?

8
SamQuentin1 8 points ago +9 / -1

Burr is swamp so he will be fine

3
Count_Dyscalculia 3 points ago +3 / -0

I hope not. (not the swamp part) I hope they have to sacrifice him for appearances and then he turns on them and calls Trump up begging for help and Trump says "Well, we all know there's corruption. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it. How about you work with me and tell me ALL ABOUT IT and we'll see if we can do something together."

3
snuggs316 3 points ago +3 / -0

but they should be morally shamed and scorned for betting against america and for profiting off disaster during a time of (impending at the time) national crisis. it looks even worse in hindsight, bc people are scared about jobs and bills.

3
brother_red 3 points ago +3 / -0

They won't be proscecuted because for Congress, insider trading IS NOT ILLEGAL!

FUCK THAT! This law must change.

Spez: I seem to be out of date with my info.

2
Count_Dyscalculia 2 points ago +2 / -0

They already charged a Republican last year for "insider trading". I know, I thought it was "Legal" for them too!

2
2
brother_red 2 points ago +2 / -0

Note the names of the 3 senators who voted against it.

Burr was one.

2
Count_Dyscalculia 2 points ago +2 / -0

There must be some loophole. They're dumbshits when it comes to Governance but Geniuses when it comes to covering their asses involving any sorts of shenanigans.

9
Whoopies_tds 9 points ago +9 / -0

China virus had been bubbling up for a while. When Trump banned travel from China, that was a sign. Although I didn’t get out at the peak, I was strongly considering it and was fortunate to move the sidelines on March 3 after seeing estimates of increased travel restrictions which means decreased revenue for the airline and oil industries....

This isn’t to condone Congress insider trading but this will be a fine line and proving the trades occurred on what was private vs. public may be difficult here

9
SamQuentin1 9 points ago +10 / -1

The worst part is that Congress can’t be charged with insider trading.

2
2
zebfross 2 points ago +2 / -0

The problem is it is incredibly hard to prove in court. Their spouses "control the finances", so they just come home and casually mention that shit is going to hit the fan.

7
rooftoptendie 7 points ago +7 / -0

Can someone sauce me once and for all on whether insider trading is illegal for them or if they are exempt. Because I heard an equal amount of both last night.

6
Manus 6 points ago +6 / -0

Reddit: Feinstein (D-CA) who?

4
CoreyAnder 4 points ago +4 / -0

They all need to be put in jail. Same with that Republican - and every one of them at that meeting that sold their shares off should be penalized for insider trading. Full stop.

They used inside information. If they new how bad this was going to be they should have been sounding the alarm, not talking to their fucking stock broker. There needs to be legal ramifications for this

3

My roommate was complaining that Mitch McConnell did this today.

I explained to her that it is allowed for Senators and Congressman to do it.

And the Feinstein did it too.

And that NONE of them should be allowed.

She told me to stop defending republicans.

Bitch I was AGREEING WITH YOU!!!!

I'm NOT as hardcore as a lot of you guys. But sure as fuck sympathize with Trump supporters.

And I LOVE how you guys accept me for thinking he's a doing a good job, even though I'm not a republican. Whereas my fellow democrat friends are willing to insult me and call me names just because I don't think he's literally Hitler.

Much love! Stay safe from the crazies out there Jesus..... We need more Trump supporters in a time like this. So I'm jumping on the train.

3
Brulz_Lulz 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'm more impressed that the rest of them didn't

1
vote_for_MAGA_2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

What makes you think they didn’t? These are just the ones we know about so far.

2
Brulz_Lulz 2 points ago +2 / -0

I think they have to make their trades public. Failure to file with the SEC is illegal (as far as I know) because they are a public official. What isn't illegal is acting on insider knowledge (I know, it sounds pretty fucked up but it kind of makes sense).

The intel meeting was on 24 January. The new Georgia State Senator is being accused of it as well. Guess it didnt take her long to learn the ropes.

“Appreciate today’s briefing from the President’s top health officials on the novel coronavirus outbreak. These men and women are working around the clock to keep our country safe and healthy.” Loeffler tweeted on January 24, 2020 — Loeffler reported her first stock sale (jointly with her husband) this very same day.

They should be expelled from the senate immediately

2
RusherOfDin 2 points ago +2 / -0

There's already a false narrative being pushed that Republicans are denying any fellow Republicans are guilty of insider trading when in fact they are not.

2
SneakyPete 2 points ago +2 / -0

I hope this puts Collins ahead of Loeffler for the senate seat.

2
Choomguy 2 points ago +2 / -0

They all sold off stocks, they freaking crashed the market. If they knew, thousands of donors, family, brokers etc, knew.

These fuckers are dancing on peoples graves.

2
BaldyGull 2 points ago +2 / -0

Don’t listen to what they’re saying , look at what they’re doing.

Who knows but who in the fuck sells off in a bull market? Answer: nobody but people with insider info. It's amazing to me that politicians are allowed to trade stocks. Want to trade stocks for 30 years, stay out of politics. Pick one or the other.

2

2
MagickWandMan 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ok, so these women, who are powerful Democrats and seemingly pro-women, rely on their husbands to handle all of their finances. Does anyone else see a conflict with the Dem narrative there? Perhaps it has something to do with public service (I've never been a Senator), but to have no say in your finances, and to have no clue what's happening with any of your money or finances or stocks seems a little unrealistic.

It's so 1950's house frau.

Also, if they don't know anything about their own finances and take whatever they get blindly, how should anyone else be expected to trust them with their money and finances?

No wonder there's so much debt.

I think "husband" here really means "Chinese handler".

2
bowill01 2 points ago +2 / -0

I mean it's not illegal to sell your stock based off of insider information not available to the public. That's not insider trading, don't be silly.

2
RenaissanceOfHope 2 points ago +2 / -0

I understand banning insider trading by people telling other people stuff. But if you’re banned from it yourself even when you’re keeping your mouth shut, that should be allowed if you’re silent.

The way that the law bans you acting on your accounts while keeping your pie hole shut is Orwellian.
