To be fair, I've only hoarded toilet paper once. But that was the night we were going to leave Camp Arifjan in Kuwait in order to prepare for entry into Iraq back in 2003. I hit up the bathrooms with a laundry bag and took a single roll from each (I wasn't a complete dick). And it's a damn good thing I did too.
It’s almost like our homeboy in office wanted to have tight borders for years, then when he was stopping all flights from China they cried muh racism.
You can’t attack him on actions he is taking, then when those whining get their way attack him that his actions should have happened sooner. Admit he was right and admit your globalism is the cause of all this.
He would have done more sooner, had they never tried to undo the 2016 election.
Imagine this...borders controlled. HB1 Visas and other visa's BTFO'd. American manufacturing coming back and crippling the Chicoms. The average wages of US earners increased from 5k (current0 to 15k (what should have been).
To the Left, its only America First when they themselves are directly affected.
To this point, the left are the modern aristocracy, they care little about those around them. They only care when their treasure and wealth are threatened by something they cannot see or the hoard they ignored.
The CDC response in the early days has nothing to do with Trump. If anything, their shift in focus to bullshit tasks under Obama had more to do with it. But even setting that aside, all Trump can do is empower his experts. If they drop the ball, there's not a lot he can do.
It's way too heavy handed and Trump should have went with his initial gut feeling comparing it to the flu.
Maybe, in a fair world, he should have, but the virus would spread even faster and wider, the hospitals would be more overwhelmed, more people would die, the media would blame him even more for the chaos and for ALL deaths, and A lot of normies would believe it's all his fault because they didn't "see" him doing enough.
This is what happens in virus outbreaks, and happened during other pandemics, but the media exaggerates everything when it's about Trump. They are crucifying him even while he does everything possible to manage the situation as well as humanly possible. If he weren't doing as much, they would be trying to destroy him about as much, but at least, because he is doing A LOT, everyone who still has any unwashed & healthy brain cells left, can see that the media are full of crap. We can see through the fake news, but unfortunately, millions of normies are still influenced by the fake-news media, and a possibly even worse tragedy than a higher infection and death rate from this virus, if serious measures hadn't been taken, would be if Trump didn't win the election in November and we lost America forever because, at this point, in 4 or 8 years of open borders, no deportations, and high numbers of refugees coming in (among other horrible policies), America would be changed and gone forever.
Whether Trump himself did anything or not, most of the U.S. would be practically shut down anyway because the media has made people panic. At least by taking every possible measure, Trump can "prove" to people that he IS taking the situation very seriously and doing everything that CAN be done to protect Americans' lives.
Also, the "socialism" allegations are being used mostly by the commies to say that socialism IS the solution and should be the standard 100% of the time, and by unrealistic people (mainly obsessive conservatives and libertarians) who don't get it that, if people feel they were unjustly abandoned by Trump, who promised that the forgotten people would never be forgotten by him, they will NOT vote at all or will not vote for Trump in November.
Trying to manage a crisis by ONCE (or temporarily) giving back taxpayers their own money (at least in the vast majority of cases) by helping tax-paying businesses be able to reopen after this is over, while trying to make possible for people to still have jobs, or have new job openings to apply for, at the end of this, is NOT socialism.
Crisis management to try and avoid the ruin of even more hardworking business owners and their employees is VERY different from permanent intrusive government, overregulation or takeover of private businesses by the government, and wealth redistribution to penalize the hard workers and benefit those who, in a system that offers every opportunity to all people and in a perfectly good and thriving capitalist economy, could very well work to provide for themselves, but basically choose not to do so.
Right now, tons of hardworking people, whether they are business owners or employees, CAN'T work for no fault of their own. That's why Trump wants to do everything possible to help them. But it's also true that, if he doesn't do absolutely everything that can be done, not only to contain the virus, but also to diminish faultless and hardworking people's financial struggles or total ruin during this crisis, he'll lose in November, and THEN, conservatives who are joining the socialists in saying that "socialism" is being used to manage this health/financial crisis, will have a chance to feel on their skin if Trump's reasonable choices now to help deserving Americans are worse than having Biden (or whatever leftard is going to be making the decisions for him) as president, bringing a lot more truly socialist policies, open borders, no deportations, no oil independence, 2A attacks, and so many more disastrous policies.
The thing is, federally...Trump is doing everything correct. He's doing what needs to be done on a national level (Freeing up liquidity, stopping travel coming in or out). Everything else has been left up to the responses of the states themselves. He's even gone as far as to leverage money to produce medical equipment and supplies on demand if needed because no one company would re-open a plant before the shit hit the fan.
However, lets look at the states that are most affected...they are Blue...have already draconian laws and have a hardon for diversity. These are the same power centers who called Trump a wacist for trying to move a tenth of our manufacturing back to the states and enforce the borders. Now that the shit hit the wall, these states are screaming for more help all the while curtailing their own citizens. They put Americans at risk for their ideology...and now that a virus has zero qualms in infecting them they are crying for help.
In short order, all of this would have never been a issue had the American Conservative did not give so much ground to the left. The whole Ben "I'll lose, but i'll lose on principle" Acolytes have led us down this dangerous path. Had we fought harder tooth and nail to never concede an inch to the left. I doubt this virus would have touched the shores as hard as it did...and it would have burned itself out in China far earlier. Why...because there'd be no reason for the leftards to travel to China, same with business personnel to go to china and be exposed to a virus.
The approval rating was split cleanly along partisan lines. GEOTUS could cure cancer, coronavirus, aids tomorrow, solve world hunger, and usher in an era of worod peace and these nutjobs would still disapprove because orange man bad.
I was originally critical of Trumps response, but I partly fell for the hype. The testing still bothers me, but that isn’t Trumps fault. His messaging was off at first, but I think he legitimately thought the virus was contained and was trying to prevent a panic...he is now controlling the situation extremely effectively.
I just can’t get over the way the media is responding. It’s horrifying. Their questions should be, “how can we help?”. Not how can we make Trump look bad.
Trump is flipping the script and even if the economy turns south, which I think is likely, the media is overreaching and will only help get him re-elected.
"Socialism" allegations are being used mostly by the commies to say that socialism IS the solution and should be the standard 100% of the time, and by unrealistic people (mainly obsessive conservatives and libertarians) who don't get it that, if people feel they were unjustly abandoned by Trump, who promised that the forgotten people would never be forgotten by him, they will NOT vote at all or will not vote for Trump in November.

There's a difference between handing money to layabouts and handing money to people who are hurting through no fault of their own. Don't forget many locations have enforced quarantines and ordered businesses closed, even if the danger is overblown.
I shut someone like that down by saying: It's not socialism if I'm getting my tax dollars back and private companies still own the means of production.
If a person says "well the government regulates companies all the time" then say "yeah but they don't own them." Some people think everything is socialist. Loaning you five bucks for lunch? Socialism. National parks? Socialism. Trigonometry? Socialism. The grass growing in my backyard? Socialism.
It would be higher but the MSM non-stop fearmongering and social media reeeeeing probably has people confused. The "it's a hoax" thing is so absurd but I bet people are eating it up.
I wish he had called this virus bullshit about three weeks ago. It ain't nothing but the flu. It's not worse than bird flu, or swine flu or H1N1. We've overreacted and I wish he has said so. That said, politically what he's done has been the best thing for his reelection, so I approve. I don't want to see direct payments. No one deserves something for nothing. I'd like to see a tax holiday, let me keep what I earned.
The problem is that government shutdowns are putting people out of work. If the only reason I'm not working is because the government says I can't, then the government should provide relief.
Unfortunately that's taxpayer money. I hate it, but I don't see any way around it. Agree with you about the panic being ridiculous. But that toothpaste is out of the tube now.
Pretty impressive considering the MSM has continually rallied against his efforts the whole time.
This has entirely backfired on the left. They've been making it out as so apocalyptic that Trump just needed to do a reasonably competent job and people would support him.
US seems to be doing better than anywhere else so far so this will be a boost for him.
They’ve been making it out as so apocalyptic that Trump just needed to do a competent job and people would support him.
That’s where the media and DNC always fuck up with Trump. They never learn. If they really wanted to hurt him they should have made it seem like nothing at all, not even on pare with the flu. Like it was just a case of the sniffles. Then when say 10,000 people die in the end they can point to Trump and say he let a case of the sniffles kill 10,000 people. Instead they say it’s the worst pandemic imaginable and 2 million Americans will die. Now when we come out on the other end and let’s say 200,000 people die (I don’t think it will be anywhere close to that but I want to use a big number) Trump would still be able to tout that he managed the pandemic so well that the death toll was 1,000% lower than media projections.
I swear the media can’t think long term. They can’t see that the short term damage their outrage hit jobs inflict in the long term benefits Trump.
My prediction: the curve of approval of Trump's handling of the crisis will be inversely proportional to the curve of media hype and duration of the crisis. right now, it's 55% approval versus say, 70% hype. If it becomes 65% approval, the hype will recede by a factor of three, so 55% hype, and so on. Then, the media will narrative will invariably shift to "Trump virus response blunders leaves million of economic victims in its wake."
Wait until the machinery starts moving again. She'll be crying about how policies and procedures that were in place at the start of the year are suddenly racist to reinstate.
45% want to see him fail, resulting in far more American deaths if that's what it takes to remove him from office. You don't understand, Trump Derangement Syndrome isn't just a political opinion, it's a mental dis-order masquerading as a virtue.
lady in north Las Vegas had an Obama sticker on her truck and got out wearing a maga hat. I asked her about it when she came into our store and she gushed over trump. Asked her about the sticker and she said she is waiting to get her own trump bumper sticker to cover the Obama sticker and wanted to tweet herself doing it to the president Twitter. So I carry a trump 2020 sticker in my backpack waiting g to see her again.
Trump is doing really well but the Dems are intent to trash the economy. The WHO helped them out big time. Now the Dems are shutting down their big cities and states to further tank the economy.
I went short on the S&P500 because I don't think the Dems will stop at a -30% drop. I expect a bottom to be -40% or -50%.
So, the 45% are the toilet paper, disinfectant hording mfers. Probably don't wash their hands after they piss or shit. Keep the disinfectant just to be ass holes. Yeh! I'm fed up with the idiots.
There are dark times coming pedes. No 2 ways about it. Bit I think there will be a light at the end of this tunnel. Trump warned Americans about China and immigration. I really think the globalism and immigration are about to recieve there deathblow...
This is a time to cheer for your president. It's no longer a political issue it's a American issue, family issue, community issue. Politics need to get put away right now. Democrats that can reach over the isle will see the reward from their community's. Those that don't will be booted. This is a time for the good in everyone to come out. Seriously. Everyone in my community is calm yet cautious. We all want this over and everyone to make it through. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 MAGA
There is not much more Trump can be doing. He’s handling it exceptionally well, and the only people who aren’t saying so have been the liars and losers on CNN who have been saying he’s done a poor job since the beginning. FUCK THEM
Don't forget to remind your usual useful idiots daily that every time he took a preemptive action to help reduce the effects of the pandemic they threw a fit. Keeping ships quarantined, suspending travel to China then Europe, giving the economy a stimulus, declaring a state of emergency, on and on the list goes. Nothing ever makes these people happy, it is only ever "orange man bad".
It's the 2nd one
yup... just look at the toilet paper shortage...
You never realize how many people around you are - possibly literally - retarded until they show their true colors.
To be fair, I've only hoarded toilet paper once. But that was the night we were going to leave Camp Arifjan in Kuwait in order to prepare for entry into Iraq back in 2003. To be fair,
that 45% represents the amount of brainwashed masses that vote straight blue, the king you find on r/politics.
Go check that old site with the subreddits at r/seattle to see the one post with the President and watch them all melt into hate.
"He should have done more sooner!!! (waves hands in the air)"
Oh yeah 45%'ers? Tell us what YOU would have done so that world leaders can share in your vast wisdom.
"Well I would have closed everything weeks before blumpf did and pulled a cure out of my ass!"
...right.
They literally called his stop on all flights from China "premature" and "racist."
Fuck these people. They hate us and they hate America.
Binder called it xenophobic
Test kits! I would have provided millions of test kits!
Fuckin' armchair quarterbacks.

The media was fanning the flames of a panic. He had to do what he did.
Because the economy is more important than lives. Oh wait that's a globalist perspective
The thing is, federally...Trump is doing everything correct. He's doing what needs to be done on a national level (Freeing up liquidity, stopping travel coming in or out). He stepped up when our country needed him the most. The media have been a disgrace in the way they've covered the chinese virus.
THE MEDIA ARE THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE
Can I️ get a CNN fact check on this?
EVAN EVAN EVAN
35%, all polls are over-sampled democrat by 10% at least. Pollsters are propagandists.
rEaLiTy hAs a lIbErAl bIaS
Whenever I hear anyone say this I know that they have zero credibility and can be dismissed of having any critical thinking whatsoever.
There is typically also a 10-20% "undecided" so I don't think this means 45% disapprove.
The other 45% are deep state shills looking for a new world order and mad their plans are being foiled.
Or they are brainwashed by MSM. MSM needs to die. It's pure cancer at this point
Yep, people underestimate just how much influence the MSM has over the population, kind of scary when you think about it.
We wouldn't be in this crisis if they hadn't ridiculously hyped the panic (as they continue to do).
Chinese Virus
You are now under arrest for one felony count of racism.
DEFINITELY NOT TIRED OF WINNING!! LOL
I like to see those criticizing Trump to step into his shoes and shit their pants.
Time for a new hoax. Sessions/Kisliyak wrap up smear day after 2017 SOTU and Trump breached 50+% approval rating.
As opposed to how the governors are handling it...
True. I've watched most press and President Trump hasn't attacked anyone. He's done a great job of uniting our people.
My brother in law thinks the payment to families is socialism and will not shut up about it on social media.
This is so very true.

I mean, maybe he's right but emergency actions facilitated by a good capitalist economy is how I see it. It makes sense to try and get some help to citizens while a LOT of them can't work, and we're only able to help because we're not doing this type of thing often.
Exactly. It's crisis management and the only reason we can do this is because of a capiliralist system.
All the actions of govt, private sector and citizen volunteers focused on managing this crisis.
Thank God it's Donald Trump and not Hillary or Biden.
There's a difference between handing money to layabouts and handing money to people who are hurting through no fault of their own. Don't forget many locations have enforced quarantines and ordered businesses closed, even if the danger is overblown.

Winning over the independents, which is what matters come November.
The Democrat shills are always going to REEEEEEEEEEEE even if Trump got out his magic Obama economy wand and fixed the problem tomorrow.
By all rights, that should be way higher. Shows how much sway the fake news MSM still has.
It would be higher but the MSM non-stop fearmongering and social media reeeeeing probably has people confused. The "it's a hoax" thing is so absurd but I bet people are eating it up.

Some people literally can’t work so wouldn’t matter if they had a tax holiday, and most people don’t have any money saved.
That means 90% approve. Fake polls are fake.

Are you alive? Everyone you kjnow? Is anyone you know sick with covid19?
Good, then he's done his job
And the people who disapprove are only doing so because they find it offensive that Trump correctly identifies the origin of the virus as Chinese.
45% want to see him fail, resulting in far more American deaths if that's what it takes to remove him from office. You don't understand, Trump Derangement Syndrome isn't just a political opinion, it's a mental dis-order masquerading as a virtue.
The rest are complaining that he doesn’t have a magic wand.
I’m happy with this response for about 1 more week.
If all businesses are shut down and shit for much longer. I no longer approve.
I realize a lot is state level. But even MAGA DeSantis in Florida is shutting down multiple counties.
Guys it's counterproductive to call it the CHINESE Corona Virus. Everyone knows it's a Corona virus. Simply saying CHINESE Virus is the proper term.

So I carry a trump 2020 sticker in my backpack waiting g to see her again.
I AM DONE WITH ALL POLLS...
Yeh! I'm fed up with the idiots.
so 75% approve
The other 45% believe the media.
Trump had this thing under control since January!
There are dark times coming pedes. No 2 ways about it. Bit I think there will be a light at the end of this tunnel. Trump warned Americans about China and immigration. I really think the globalism and immigration are about to recieve there deathblow...
Lots of the people in disapproval are mad that he called it "Chinese".
FUCK THEM
lol 55% really means 75% - they're only asking independents. Anyone who is still 'Independent' at this point is a fkng Democrat and we all know it.
The other 45% think the news is giving it to them straight
Only 55%?
I believe it is closer to 75% Approval... But, I guess you know by now, I am extremely bias!
I approve of his actions, not the governor's actions
Sean Penn is 5'8"
Don't forget to remind your usual useful idiots daily that every time he took a preemptive action to help reduce the effects of the pandemic they threw a fit. Keeping ships quarantined, suspending travel to China then Europe, giving the economy a stimulus, declaring a state of emergency, on and on the list goes. Nothing ever makes these people happy, it is only ever "orange man bad".
Imagine if there wasn't daily fake news of "19 reasons why Trump is personally responsible for killing everyone in the world with Corona Virus"
