Why?

Everyone is stuck at home, curious about what's next.

They're all tuning into these daily press conferences.

They're seeing Trump speak at length for the first time - not through headlines and sound bites but full pressings.

This is honestly a great silver lining.

Some are saying things like "I don't like the guy but the China thing is hilarious. He's right"

In a lot of ways, when I see someone preface their statement that way, I think they like him a lot more than they're willing to say publicly.

Happy to see friends I left behind when I jumped on the train getting on board now.

A lot of people were just knee-jerk anti-Trump because they were into the SJW/snowflake stuff, imagining that if you're a good person, then you had to believe that things like "transgender rights" were really important. Reality has been a wake-up call about what's important and what's not.

The good thing about this “Chinese virus” controversy is that it is SO unbelievably contrived, that the media didn’t have time to spin it from the start. So everyone already spent a month hearing how it is the China/Wuhan virus, so when they clutch their pearls over the nomenclature now, the absurdity is patently obvious

Deplora 6 points ago +7 / -1

I've started a campaign to rename it the Xi Jinping virus. Point the finger right at the chief perpetrator. Wanna hop onboard? https://thedonald.win/p/FMEmOW95/dont-call-it-the-chinese-virus-c/

Transgender rights aren't more important that remaining alive ?

I said this a week ago in another post.

The normies in America will now be forced to recognize the despicable nature of the press. You know the people I'm talking about, the ones who never tune into the news, who don't know what's happening with current events, the ones who can't stand talking about politics. That's fine, I sometimes envy their position in life, but that all ends the second something like this happens.

This is going to be so bad for the press, because normal Americans are going to be forced to recognize it. They want news now and they will be tuning in to press briefings and they will see the duplicitous nature of the press and it will open their eyes.

People are going to love that he is looking for treatments and is giving dying people right to try. It is saving some of them. Thst will be all over the place in a week. Docs will find a workable combination, and save many people.

This is why saying china or wuhan or whatever virus is now racist. It's why they're screaming not to listen to him and that he's giving false hope. This is why the people who said blocking flights from China was racist before it wasn't doing enough are now saying he's doing too much.

If you thought the people who woke up over Kavanaugh, or muh Russia, or muh peach mints, were pissed, wait until people don't get mountains of corona corpses. Wait until the news starts hysterically screaming that it was all a big nothingburger and Trump overreacted and panicked everybody.

It's one thing to be pissed when you realize the entire media has been lying to you about "politics". It's another when you realize that you've been stuck in your house and fighting your neighbors for TP for a couple of weeks because they lied to you.

This country has a problem discerning what's more important in leadership. Likability or effectiveness. Now they are learning.

Or "electability." Roll eyes.

After Trump gets done crushing this health crisis and dealing with all the BS from the press on a daily basis, Joe Biden is going to be child’s play.

5
QuantumReality11 5 points ago +5 / -0

And with Trump you don't have to choose, you get the whole package.

ERansom 5 points ago +5 / -0

We have a long list of presidents who wouldn’t have been elected in the “Media Age.” Our decades of searching for “perfection” in a leader culminated in Hussein Obama. I think most people have come to terms with how that turned out. We don't need perfect leaders. We need people perfect for the job.

joew 18 points ago +18 / -0

Being stuck at home watching these briefings in real time un-edited you see how the media edits them and puts the President in the worse light but if you see them live you realize it's the media that's in the worse light and not being honest.

I have a different theory: they've always liked him...at least In the last 2 years. They're just afraid to say so.

Every one of those people who fit into the SJW/Snowflake category are now 3 1/2 years older now, by November they will be 4 years older. There will always be the hard left "useful idiots" that are already programmed and no amount of logic can help them but, there are many, many more who are wide open to listening, even if it's secretly.

Watching complete quotes in press conferences instead of headlines is a sea change.
That's what happened to many Trump supporters in 2016, including me.
I can guarantee a lot of your friends will be making comparisons with this sensationalist reporter today. Almost all headlines (including DailyMail in the UK) have protected him by removing the largest part of his nasty question (the "millions are afraid"). That made Trump's answer appear over the top when it was not https://streamable.com/1zfhd

3
OhLollyLollyPop 3 points ago +3 / -0

They will also watch Trump in totality, then see the doctored socialist news, and realize the news is lying. Day after day they will get redpilled.

An older friend (about 70) whose mom (95) is in a nursing home and hasn't been able to see her in years, he told me this the other day, with tears in his eyes, "I've been wrong about this guy the whole time, what he's doing now, without him... my mom might have died from this and I would never have the chance to see her before she passes!" Yeah, it gave me the onions.

6
IntrepidBurger 6 points ago +6 / -0

Isn't it kind of funny? This whole thing was painted as Trump's achilles heel. But in the end Trump proved he's the most formidable leader one can ask for in a time of crisis. And now he walks into November bolstered by all of this instead of sunk by it.

KAG 2020 bitches.

6
whiskey_shitz 6 points ago +6 / -0

The Democrats and their media allies fucked up using this as another opportunity to attack President Trump. People are waking up

6
boomerbutnotOKBoomer 6 points ago +6 / -0

AMEN @OP - I'm seeing the same thing. kek - What tickles me is this - even if the stupidos on the Left thought they were going to crush Donald Trump with this, if it really WAS a planned event to take him out - they blew it! I have been telling people for 4 years that the press is editing his speeches and his videos and taking everything out of context for their sick agenda. They just rolled their eyes. And now, with more time at home, you are so right. They are seeing the full speech. Then they see the "news" toss out bullshit opinions and edits. They are sheepishly starting to think they may have been wrong all this time. This could kill both the Dem party and the MSM. Yeeeehaww

no_step_on_snek 4 points ago +4 / -0

I've been saying this. He will never say it because he has class, but this is good for him politically. That's one way to tell who a good leader is, in a crisis if it hurts their image or helps their image. People are going to see him for real, they're going to see how he handles this situation and they're going to vote for him.

It will also help open minds to seeing what the propaganda mouthpieces are really up to. This is a great long term benefit to the country as a whole.

3
OhLollyLollyPop 3 points ago +3 / -0

And, if they have seen much if Biden, they are possibly going to realize that some D bureaucrats would be up there without Biden, who has dementia. Biden who has to be hidden between whatever treatments he gets for short times of lucidity.

A votr for Biden is a vote for Jill Biden, an elder abuser.

4
Latinalover71 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think this was somewhat orchestrated to force ppl to watch the fake news media. Hopefully it has pushed ppl to watch the press conferences he gives every day. I dont think the dems and their propaganda machine thought he would give a press conference every day because he stopped long ago. Hopefully enough ppl see what he is made of even if his best effort isnt good enough to elect him again. They can't keep up this pace for 4 more yrs. Dont forget Durham is due out any time. They surely dont want that on the news. That's another reason for the whole charade.

4
MemeToo 4 points ago +4 / -0

But where, other than Fox News, can people see the press conference in its entirety? Youtube, yes, but how many people are likely to see it there?

4
no_step_on_snek 4 points ago +4 / -0

Did you miss OPs point? Lots of people, millions of Americans, are at home right now with nothing to do but see how long this is going to take. So they watch the coronavirus press conferences to get an in depth understanding of what is happening. And they see the president for who he is, unedited. And they see the government response. He will grow on millions of them.
