I've been using the same thing of Gillette since before they told all men they are immoral, but when it is done I will seek a product from a different company. Any recommendations?

I made the jump to a safety razor. The starting costs were a brush (badger), a bowl (for shave cream mixing) and shave cream--though I'm told you can keep using gel or normal spray-can foam and skip the former two items), a handle, and razors. Start with a variety pack, so you can find out which brand you like best. Results vary so don't take anyone's word for which is best for them.

Once you're in on that, you only ever need buy the blades (a hundred blades costs $6-8), and cream (if you went bowl/brush). My cream has lasted me over a year so far, with plenty left.

Took me about 3-4 shaves to get it right. There was some nicking (it was like a flashback to high school) the first few times. Then, you figure it out (though frankly I'd be hard pressed to tell you what precisely I figured out) and you'll be fine from then on.

I'm very happy with the switch; it's better, it's cheaper, it's more enjoyable to do, and of course, no stupid SJW companies.
