I have a feeling the FDA is stalling to avoid lawsuits of anyone that may have complications concerning these two drugs. I wish they'd be bold and cut the red tape and start saving lives.

And it can be done. Azithromycin is a very common antibiotic...most folks know it as a z-pak. Hydrochloroquin is a very common anti-viral. Both have Been on market for years.

As a person with allergy and nasal issues throughout my life, azithromycin is something i've taken a ton of times.

99% of the lag issues are because of FDA red tape. And people STILL want the federal government running their healthcare. Amazing

As I understand it, Dr.s can begin prescribing it right now. I'm guessing that insurance won't want to pay for the meds, but I wouldn't let that stop me from taking it.

Both drugs are extremely cheap, and available. If the insurance company had a choice between weeks of hospital stay costs, or HCQ & Z-Pak, they'll take the combo drugs in a split second

Probably, I hope so.
The insurance co wouldn't cover prescribed acid reflux meds for a family member "because you can buy them over the counter" and he ended up at the hospital with what the nurses probably call a "acid reflux heart attack" because "over the counter" wasn't effective.

So the insurance company paid a hell of a lot more for that than they would have for a prescription.
I do see the difference in scenarios, but still.
This kind of thing happens a lot more since the ACA killed the free market.

hydroxychloroquine is about .60 to $3 a tablet depending on manufacturer. Need about 12 tablets for full Course. Z-pack are about 3-10 dollars per pack. Both are on shortage now to pharmacies. I am seeing increase scripts for this combination coming in for patients to have for just Incase scenarios. Due to this we are only Dispensing if we can verify active infection. Just like hoarding of TP people are becoming selfish now with these drugs and causing national shortages .

My friend is a nurse in well known NY hospital. They have started giving patients Chloro. If they have pneumonia they get both. I guess we will know soon.

This is good, really good news. China will be very sad, as will democrats.
"Under budget and ahead of schedule"
We are so dam fortunate this is happening during the Trump years.

Some may even speculate this is happening because it’s during Trump’s years.

They're supposed to prescribed as part of a right to choose type program aren't they? Report the prescription and then the results.

"cut the red tape and start saving lives"

that will be the day. Unless POTUS gets involved like he is now. The gov't institutions move at a glacial pace

It's the same reason that governors are turning their states into giant concentration camps. They are scared and don't want these deaths on their hands. When this turns out to be a giant overreaction, I want to see heads, pikes, walls.
