Exactly! I work a regular office job and that's great and all, but if we ever go full apocalypse I may not have a farm but I have loads of tools and can fix many things and have a ton of experience with car repair and electrical wiring. Valuable skills can be bartered with for what you don't have. If your skills are creative writing and gender studies you will much sooner outlive your usefulness.

And something else you probably thought of but didn't mention, even if you don't have a farm, farmers love useful people and there's a tremendous upside to having people like you around in apocalypse scenarios. Mechanical/vehicle and electrical know-how are 2 skills that will forever serve you no matter how bad things get. Plus loads of tools, you're exactly the type of person who thrives in a Walking Dead scenario. Add a little 2A collection to your arsenal and your golden

I have 37 acres in East Texas that could work. Of course we would have to work around the oil wells and injection wells.
