Haha, I'm not surprised really. That's reported as the case in a lot of places that aren't as popular or overrun tourist traps. I find I do very well in places that are supposed to hate strangers. They generally warm really quick to people who are quiet, non-disruptive, and respectful. I haven't made it to the Dakotas yet but they may end up high on the travel destination list once this is all over.

You've probably seen that the happiest people live in the Dakotas? Hard work and good values does that to a person. I've known a few from there, only been once. Their description is apt: it's hot, cold, and windy.

Flying a kite that tows your buggy would be a good hobby there.
