Most of the "country folk" are people that live 3 minutes from the interstate and more than a few need those "city boy" medications they have to pick up from Walmart for diabetes and all manner of ailments.
Not to be mean, but seriously too many of them arent as independent as they like to brag, though far better off than a hipster.
The best example is what the Soviets did to their farmers in the USSR bread basket of Ukraine.
They waited for the harvest season to be over, removed all the grain and stockpiled food... then blockaded them in over the winter to starve... where the farmers after a few months began eating their own children and selling off the prime body parts for essentials.
Then they repopulated the farming areas with city dwellers that did not know how to farm and the population nationwide nearly died off from famine over successive seasons.
Democrats today : "We would rather see everyone starve... then let Trump win a second term. Since the flyover states have guns... we sent the Chinese Virus instead. (Cheering and praise from both elite coasts and elite north of Chicago/Michigan)
Democrats aren't going to compromise anymore... they demand absolute rule now... no matter how many lives it costs... worldwide.
It is why they (DNC/CNN, etc.) openly support China, over the President of the United States.
