I noticed that myself. Steven Crowder mentioned it in a video and when I looked up the H1N1 numbers, I realized that that was WAY worse than this has been so far. Estimated deaths somewhere between 200k - 500k, somewhere like a million infected in the US. This was in 2009, I was starting college then but don't even remember it, to be honest.
Funniest part is that H1N1 is the same virus that caused the Spanish flu pandemic. You'd think the media back in '09 would have had a goddamned field day with that. That would have been the perfect time to fearmonger. Imagine-- "THE SPANISH FLU IS BACK!!111". But, as far as I can remember, that never happened.
by this time, tens of thousands of Americans were dead from H1N1, but nobody gives, or gave, a shit about that.
