As GEOTUS has stated, once the warmer weather hits this will all go away. Why the hell is everyone freaking the fuck out?

Because the media is not telling them these kinds of things, and instead focusing only on the negative to drive panic, and "leaders" like angela merkel and governor newsom are making absolutely outrageous claims that half their populations will get it (despite currently being at tiny fractions of 1% infected).

Absolutely!

Also, this virus started in cold december and it's still in the 30s in late March. A lot can go wrong before it warms up if we're not careful.

Certainly ain't in the 30s for almost all of California!! Barely a thousand cases in a state with 40 million people and the governor is making outrageous claims of 25 million getting infected. That is the worst sort of fear-mongering I can imagine!! Not even ONE case in my county (of around 1 million people) and yet we are in lockdown along with the rest of the state, devastating the local economy....

The lockdowns and forced business closures are ridiculous. The panic buying is ludicrous. The fearmongering is incredibly dangerous. But preventing foreign travel, promoting washing hands and adding a little extra social distance is helpful. And while I'm jealous of California's warm weather, at least we here aren't sheltered in place... yet.

I agree. I feel like we went from not paying enough attention and not doing enough a month ago to going way overboard to the extreme without even bothering with the sensible middle ground in between.

Depends where you are. In SC it has been fairly cool, but this week the temperature shot up to 80. The South definitely is not going to have a problem with this soon.

Maybe. Maybe not. It is summer in Australia and they have reported COVID-19 cases.

So GEOTUS said warm weather kills it, you’re saying he’s wrong?!

President Trump suggested at the beginning of February that these types of virus outbreaks weaken when the weather gets warm. To be specific, he said, "the heat generally speaking kills this kind of virus." He was speaking in generalities. That may be true for other strains of coronavirus, but does not mean it is true for this variant.

That’s one to grow on!
