looking at the raw numbers is misleading. 11% will die without a ventilator, but with a ventilator it's about 2%. add the malaria drugs, and at that point only very old people die or people without treatment.
however, if treatment isn't available, then the death rate is 11%. also, you have to look at what percentage has permanent lung or organ damage, even if they don't die.
so if people act like "it's just a flu bro" the hospitals are overloaded and the death rate is 11%. if people self quarantine, it's basically 0% except for old people.
I agree with the sentiment of this post and I think this is just active measures and anti trump/pro china hysteria.
But this post shows how much more lethal wuflu is than H1N1 virus. 1 out of 4876 infected die of H1. 1 out of 35 die from kung flu.
Edit: someone posted current numbers if my math is right, 1 out of about 88 that get infected are dying from it.
