I was just reading the comments on Trump's tweet about Plaquenil, and my jaw hit the floor. The amount of misinformation is unbelievable, even from supposed "doctors." I can assure you that Plaquenil is a very safe drug. It can sometimes cause damage to the eyes when taken for long periods of time. I have been on the drug for six years, taking it every day, and have never had a problem. I also have a mother and brother, with similar autoimmune problems, and they both have been on it for years, and also have had zero issues. It is utter bullshit, that people are going to die from the drug!

Just a bunch of idiots who can't distinguish between when Trump talks about it having potential to work "off label" vs Dr. Fauci being a MD having to be strict on the line of evidence based medicine since it doesn't have any controlled trials for SARs-CoV-2 although some MDs have been seeing good results using the drugs. This is considering "anecdotal." Doctors use shit off label ALL THE TIME when it's reasonable to do so. Dr. Fauci has a medical license so has to be EXTREMELY careful with his words especially on a stage for the world to see. People see Trump's optimism about the promising drugs (already approved for malaria) as dangerous since it doesn't match up exactly with what Dr Fauci is saying (again, since he's limited on how he can promote it)
