Gonna be a lot of negatives. Italy just reevaluated their death toll from the chinese virus and its not over 4000 its 484.. I'm also betting a lot of the positives are also false and the common flu or cold instead.
Except that people with multiple conditions could be pushed over the edge by near anything so counting it as a corona virus death undercuts the reporting of severe cases. A very mild case of corona can kill someone who is elderly and has multiple conditions. So far it looks like corona virus only kills IF there are underlying conditions and that even the elderly are safe as long as they are generally healthy and can survive a normal flu or cold. There are outliers of course but those are quite rare.
It should only be counted as Corona IF the virus was a direct cause of the death, e.g. causing pneumonia.
Based on what I've read, Italy was counting anyone who died of anything as Corona if the viral test came back positive. But this is like saying that if someone has herpes at the time of death, then herpes should be listed as their cause of death.
Probably but that's the fault of the chinese government who knew the infection was out of control yet let their citizens travel freely including millions from wuhan itself. Going to be a reckoning for this when its over and I think china's dreams of world hegemony just ended in ashes. America is already decoupling and when that happens and other follow its over.
We already overproduce for our own population. Around 40% of our crops go to export markets mainly china and india. Take that away and our farmers suffer so china still has some trade clout but I don't think they will use it.

I think that is exactly how they should be counted. If you got Corona and something else then it should be counted as Corona.
What does that serve other than to inflate the rate of infection and drive further hysteria?
If you limit your data to people that exclusively have coronavirus you will have an extremely limited selection of severe cases.
If the WuFlu is what broke the camel's back, it should be counted as a WuFlu death.

Because they were lumping in unrelated deaths. Did you read the information in that link?
Much like you
Regardless the Wuhan virus did contribute to their deaths. If it never made it into their country those people would likely still be alive.
