Haven't you learned that news links are not reliable?

Might as well bludgeon me with Wikipedia links...

Clearly, only have news links as 'evidence'.

Wimps.

Someone at my husband's work tested positive. We're not in a "highly infected" area either, at least not known yet.

And how well does your husband trust this anecdote?

Human nature is to lie. Dollars to donuts, "that happened".

Harsh, but I know humans all too well.

WebMD for example, spiked the prevalence of hypochondriacs. Not to mention Munchausen syndrome by proxy.

He got an email from his work because the guy officially tested positive. His name was kept anonymous.

An HR email, eh?

What do we know about HR...

Point stands. He does not "know" anyone sick.

This is the point I'm trying to get across.

Also, I'm in a "high infected" area.

Something isn't jiving.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ In the "active cases" box I've been watching the "serious or critical" number in red all week and it's been at 64 the whole time, yet the "closed cases" deaths go up slowly. Yes they could die and a new serious or critical case takes its place, but the number staying at 64 for a week seems suspect to me as well.

Also, they might just have normal cold and conflated with China virus.

Here me out: I often hear people claim "food poisoning" eating say, Taco Bell, because of a bad stomach. I ask what was it listeria? Nope, they never went to hospital, is ALWAYS just a bad day of shits (that's the spice). I used to say the same.

That's not food poisoning.

Food poisoning? That's a minimum five day affair (I had salmonella). I no longer make false claims after THAT!

People will lie, sometimes unintentionally.

^This^ I guess great minds do think alike. Anyone could have a normal cold or flu right now and think it's corona, much less the powers that be lying about the stats.

I don't have it. No one I know, family or friends has gotten it. Every stranger or client (I do handyman work, in lots of homes) I talk to doesn't have it. No one I know knows anyone that got it. None of the strangers or clients knows anyone that's gotten it.

I've checked the hospitals & urgent cares; no one lining up (or, no one at all) to get tested.

There's a massive disconnect between what I observe (foundation of science) and what's being claimed.

"Lining up to get tested" Wait what? https://youtu.be/wJlWrJ5JQNE

"Health official are not political nor would they lie" Wait what? https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/03/21/political-health-the-motives-of-a-very-very-political-dr-fauci/

no one lining up (or, no one at all) to get tested.

Because you're more likely to GET coronavirus at a hospital.

You're more likely to get anything from a hospital...
