The problem with emergency powers is that the powers tend to outlast the emergency. Look at how much useless bureaucracy we have that's left over from the Great Depression - including the Federal Housing Authority that morphed into Government Sponsored Entities Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae which caused the Housing Bubble and Burst of 2008.

I’m somebody who firmly believes we all should do whatever is humanly possible to not only protect ourselves, but our fellow citizens, from extreme harm or death during this pandemic. That includes all the voluntary quarantining and temporary losses of some freedom of movement.
