Initially some progressives were for it. But I was watching Jimmy "literally a communist" Dore yesterday, and now that more details came out, he says it hurts Americans because it doesn't benefit people who make over 100K.
I was like wat? It literally helps the most needy Americans. People under 100K are the people less likely to have long term savings. And then he and his partner Stephanie "Miserable Cunt" explained people in LA easily make over 100K
And I realized oh, you don't like it because you won't personally benefit from it. Got it. Lol.
I don't see a problem with this at all. If you make less than 12K a year, you cannot survive on your own, you are already living off of benefits (i.e free food stamps, free utilities, etc) and/or someone else's income is sustaining you. A check to those people is just a bonus, and does not help them survive an emergency situation. Their lifestyle doesn't change in a Coronavirus economy.
They will tell their friends and family, their coworkers (if any), and anyone that will listen to them on Reddit and Twatter, that they tore that check up so much and burned it. They will pride themselves from not accepting the fascist TRUMP BUCKS bribe.
Then secretly, pay their past due phone bill, maybe some rent, and then blow the rest irresponsibly on weed and/or drugs.
Oh I guarantee there's gonna be hundreds of people burning and ripping the real checks up, recording it, and posting it to social media .... AFTER they digitally deposited it with their banking app and the funds cleared lol.
Their lobbyists are not getting paid and kicking back to them sothey are against it.
