Government should advise and if the advice is solid, people should listen. Social distance, no unnecessary trips, etc...all reasonable and good people should abide by them, by choice. Trump is talking a fine line in anticipation of adaptive behaviors flattening the curve, which they should. If people lose faith in our overall economy we risk mass riots and far more death than the virus. I don’t think people on facebook, HW, or MSM represent the majority - although it’s likely a good percent. Frankly, I’m surprised we’re doing as well as we are in terms of mass panic. The same people who support the 2nd aren’t going anywhere - people on the far left won’t grow after this. The segment in the middle may see the value - this is who I’m talking about. Any gun related deaths will likely occur, as they almost always do, as a result of ILLEGAL guns.
Honestly, I don't even know if half of them are conscious of the narrative they're pushing. It's whatever they're told. This is true among the smarter populations of the left, like those on Hacker News.
Just a couple days ago, I saw the narrative shift from "Trump refused test kits from the WHO" after the news came out they didn't even offer the US any kits to "Well, TRUMP DIDN'T EVEN ASK."

I was part of the run on ammo this time around. I figured if the worst case comes and supply chains collapse, I still need to eat beyond what I had already stockpiled over the years. I got 12 gauge 00 buckshot for my legally purchased shotgun to hunt the deer that live on my property (large rural property). I also bought some #7 shot for the bunnies assuming it's Oct to Feb when the food runs out. God has surrounded us in food, He always provides. Even the weeds like blackberries are food -- and leaves make for good toilet paper. I already have plenty of self-defense ammo on hand as always.
It was interesting watching all of the city-slicker democrats at the gun counter begging to be able to buy a gun they can take home today. Enjoy that 10-day waiting period y'all voted for, dummies.

Am I the only one who thinks that part of the push toward mass shutdowns such as some states, counties and cities are doing, is designed to make life uncomfortable or worse before the election in hopes of swaying in favor of Joe Biden or whoever it ends up being - and then even if the Wuhan virus remains an active threat suddenly there would be mass lifting of restrictions by these governors, mayors, county executives, etc. the day after the election? I notice it seems to be overwhelmingly Democrat governors, mayors and county executives implementing shelter-in-place orders. Hard to not think there's some sort of election-related purpose to it.

They are trying to say it would be unlawful for a resident to hand a firearm or a bullet to their significant other or family members. There are several obvious problems with this “ordinance.” Besides the obvious, Washington has a preemption law that forbids municipalities from regulating firearms. Plus, it’s already unlawful to carry a firearm with the “intent” to use it to cause harm. Does this ban include baseball bats and tree branches?
