Lifting Rand up in prayer. I know he has a fucked up lung from that piece of shit commie neighbor of his that almost killed him.

93
tombombadil 93 points ago +93 / -0

Never forget how the press published articles about how Rand Paul is a bad neighbor afterwards, despite having zero credible evidence of it.

How absolutely dare you?! Even though Rand is a bad dude, everyone knows Cornpop is a POC!

But seriously, Rand is a badass and will be fine and the left will go REE REE REE all the way home

They also made it seem like it was just a small altercation. It wasn't until months later that I found out the extent of the damage inflicted.

Oh shit, I didn't think about that. Hope he can get well soon. Rand is one of my favorite senators, I don't want a congress without him anytime soon. He'll be in my prayers for sure

53

They did say he displayed no symptoms.

44
ChrisTheSoberITGuy 44 points ago +53 / -9

Most don't for about two weeks. All while being highly contagious, then the coughing kicks that into high gear.

There is zero chance this is a natural virus. It's too perfect, spreads too easily with no symptoms. It also targets and kills older people... people that generally hold leadership roles.

49
FuckReddit4545 49 points ago +52 / -3

This. I'm convinced this is a Chinese bio weapon until proven otherwise.

16
thingaboutarsenal 16 points ago +18 / -2

It would really help with older people who are less productive. Leftists love eugenics.

14
literallyhitler 14 points ago +15 / -1

They have 240million ppl over 60. They do not have enough young people to take care of their aging population due to their one child policy. Then there's the femicide. They have since changed to a two child policy.

It's also been said that the virus may impact male fertility, a supposition their gov immediately censored.

14
ChrisTheSoberITGuy 14 points ago +15 / -1

A Chi-Com lab RIGHT NEXT to the meat market experts say it originated from, with articles as far back as 2015 saying they're studying and potentially creating viruses, should be a huge red flag.

It's disturbing how there are shills (or maybe just idiots) trying to brush this off as nothing.

2
streakybacon 2 points ago +2 / -0

Idiots and shills. China has already deployed thousands of "narrative framers" online and made hundreds of thousands of posts on social media.

0
Troll 0 points ago +4 / -4

30km from meat market to lab, is what I've heard.

9
Mrsattorney 9 points ago +13 / -4

I'm beginning to wonder if this is why POTUS has tried to shut the country down. There seems to be more to this...as if we don't know what we're really dealing with.

10
MSG1000 10 points ago +10 / -0

POTUS has only closed off travel IIRC. It’s been state governors who’ve been shutting down things.

6
Mrsattorney 6 points ago +8 / -2

Exactly, but POTUS put out a 15 day plan asking people to avoid contact. I didn't mean he literally shut things down. If you ask people to avoid contact, tell them we are fighting a war, and invoke the Defense Production Act, you have essentially shut things down.

5
MSG1000 5 points ago +5 / -0

Almost. This really means “unless it’s essential don’t go out”. That would allow businesses to function on some level so we don’t hard crash the economy like the crazy governors are doing.

MagaCat45 3 points ago +4 / -1

Yes it has surprised me that we don’t have this knowledge yet since we supposedly have great medical scientists.

13
Brucesky420 13 points ago +14 / -1

Most don't for about two weeks.

This is not true. Less than 5% show no symptoms for 14 days. On average it's 3-5 days for the large majority of people

7
DeplorableCentipede 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yeah, it’s pretty typical as far as infectious viruses go. Some people just want to make everything into a conspiracy theory.

4
deleted 4 points ago +5 / -1
0
streakybacon 0 points ago +1 / -1

It's not a conspiracy theory. The standard the US adpoted was based on 14 days and subsequent research increased that to 24 but the US is still going by earlier research.

No offense, but a few of you simply have not followed this virus and you do sound like a first weeker using confirmation bias.

1
streakybacon 1 point ago +1 / -0

This is not true either. You can be asymptomatic for up to 29 days (possibly more).

Why do you think the virus got so "out of control"?

It is also possible that the standard asymptomatic period could be up to 24 days.

9
dark_webdev 9 points ago +10 / -1

Too perfect would be converting all affected into zombies or worse. 99% survive this one

12
bill_in_texas 12 points ago +12 / -0

The zombies are already here. We call them leftists.

When you're out and about, and you cross the street to avoid people.....they're leftists.

Almost every virus is more likely to kill older people. I get why people think it might be a bioweapon, but you are the first that I have come across that thinks that it is an attempt to assassinate political leaders.

4
SnowflakeJuice 4 points ago +9 / -5

There are very few viruses that are contagious before presenting symptoms, this one does, up to 2 weeks prior to presenting symptoms. That is what makes it a perfect virus.

I have a couple of relatives who have now tested positive, one likely got it from work, since his boss also tested positive, the other ha no idea how he got it, and he is a teacher

2
deleted 2 points ago +3 / -1
3
ChrisTheSoberITGuy 3 points ago +7 / -4

Most respiratory viruses and bacterium show symptoms when they become infectious.

This one doesn't. Going two weeks without showing symptoms while spreading it simply by breathing is VERY odd.

This one appeared in a meat market in Wuhan very close to a laboratory where they study and create viruses for "scientific study". A Chinese university has even come out and said there is a very high chance it was artificial; the fact it got past the Chinese censors should raise some very large red flags.

I read one study where the researchers found the genome had an 80% difference from previous Coronavirus strains. The scary part is no matter what keywords I use, I cannot find it again. It's been purged before I thought to download a copy or archive.

8

I've read repeatedly that over 80% of WuFlu cases are mild or asymptomatic. There was a woman in her 60s a couple weeks ago who tested positive, and experienced symptoms for something like three hours, and then she was fine.

9
Proud_American 9 points ago +9 / -0

I think it’s some 94% recover in 6 days with no treatment. Many people’s immune systems are better than others so it’s not a surprise that we’re hearing all sorts of stories.

The difference seems to be how contagious this strain is. Also, it will mutate as time goes on almost always becoming weaker.

0
Rob_Belmonte 0 points ago +1 / -1

Probably. It a great bioweapon, then, if it only affects about 6% of people with symptoms (I doubt it's a bioweapon conspiracy).

1
Proud_American 1 point ago +1 / -0

You read that wrong, brother. 94% recover from symptoms without taking any drugs or treatments.

1
Rob_Belmonte 1 point ago +1 / -0

My bad. Mixed it up with the above comment about 80% being mild.

2
literallyhitler 2 points ago +3 / -1

about 95% of polio cases are/were asymptomatic.

3
VickiKAG 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yes, myself and brother and sister were sick 1953 with polio. We recovered but my mother was left with right arm paralyzed.

4
Watermelons 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'd say it's about 40% chance of false positive.

Washington state is reporting that about 8% of all tests are positive. Roche's annual flu sensitivity and specificity for just the machine are reported at 100% and 96.8% respectively. These are best case and don't account for a lot of things

Given these numbers we can say that the probability of disease given a + will yield about 40% false positive rate.

7
SnowflakeJuice 7 points ago +7 / -0

It's good news and bad news. It's good news if you got it, because you are likely to survive. bad news because the fact that many are asymptomatic is causing it to spread like wildfire

9
Brucesky420 9 points ago +10 / -1

It's also good news because the more people who get it fairly early, the more there is to help rebuild our economy sooner. One thing about "flattening the curve" is the massive hit the economy takes in that time. We don't want to overwhelm our healthcare system, but we also don't want to drag this out for too long

8
NocturnalPatrol 8 points ago +8 / -0

Part of me is wondering at this point if in fact everyone on the planet has, or has had, this thing, and the apparent pandemic is a series of cases in which actual symptoms manifested.

4
NocturnalPatrol 4 points ago +5 / -1

It's just a thought that I've had recently. There's nothing to substantiate it; it's not even a hunch. It's kind of a 'what if.'

And I'm roughly 25% sure I myself had it, starting in the last week of January, and throughout 3/4 of February.

3
MarySmith 3 points ago +3 / -0

I picked up a strong virus from a waiting room out west, not flu (according to Dr.), which put me out of commission from mid-Dec through 3/4 of Feb. Still depleted. Same general non emergent symptoms, but pretty close. My system valiantly struggled with it. Mucinex DM max, plus a reassuring pulse of antibiotic, pulled me through.

3
deleted 3 points ago +3 / -0
5
tombombadil 5 points ago +5 / -0

And the main reason for the sudden increase is more test kits being available. Meaning that a bunch of people had it and just didn’t know because they weren’t tested. Even Rand Paul said that he only got tested out of precaution due to his need to travel for work. He is asymptotic.
