Guys, god knows I'm a (foreign) Trump supporter but coming from a financial/banking background and having seen how governments and central banks have destroyed the economy over and over again, I would never support any stimulus whether backed by government debt or by money printing (except tax cuts). These things backfire in many different ways (inflation, centralization of power, credit risk, creation of unsustainable bubbles, ..).
The big problem currently is the over hyping of covid19 and therefore over reaction. I think Trump has managed it incredibly well but the media and big corpo have made a circus out of this flu. Look at the numbers: people that die are almost exclusively 60+ years old with preexisting conditions. In Italy, out of the thousand of deaths, 7 were less than 50, and the average death age is 79.5 (median is 80.5) for a coutry where life expenctancy is around 83. Victims most of the time have other chronic diseases, such as asthma. Most forecasts assume an exponential growth of the virus and make it sound extroardinarily dangerous when it actually looks more like a better potent seasonal flu. Read Prof Raoult documents about it to assess how hyped this thing has been at this surprisingly coincidental timing.
Trump is managing it greatly but please do not support crazy packages even if they help the people you like.
I would agree, but Social Security, Medicare, and Employer-Sponsored health "insurance"/Obamacare have wiped out private savings in America. We need to deal with the reality on the ground.
