Go look up what the Fed Funds rate was back in the early 2000s. The Fed kept consistently raising the rates to fuck over GWB, the only reason banks gave you a return on savings was because they HAD to pay you 2-4%. The other option was to pay the Fed 5% (!!)
The Fed rate for God damn near Obama's entire term was .5%. Growth was curtailed sure but the fucking cocksuckers made it impossible for that shithead to backslide. Literally as soon as Trump gets in they start pumping up the rates again! And right when you were about to see some earnings from savings, now rates have slid back to 0%.
