We have rookie numbers right now (which is good) but need to see what our numbers are later this week and next week. If we keep this under control it is a huge victory.

I absolutely agree!!

Number of cases is really impossible to know, but deaths is a hard number that provides accurate statistics.

No one's looking at this, how come? Good question!!!

Seems like I read somewhere that we were a week or two behind Italy in terms of the spread of the virus.

So are Spain, Germany, and France. We are now entering the bad part of the curve. What the numbers prove is that the USA would have had thousands of deaths by now, but the travel ban on Jan 31st saved us from early hell.

Italy had twice as many deaths at least at this time.

That's true but flu season is the same everywhere, luckily our wuflu started later than other countries. Doesn't mean our flu season will go any longer than it does in other countries.

I agree with your sentiment 1000% - but you’re just not making a solid claim here. That turns off the “logicos” as I call them - people who get so turned off by irrational arguments they won’t believe you anymore.

  1. US has a much slower infiltration rate of infection because we don’t have wide open beavers - I mean borders, little joke for Kurt Vonnegut fans. Thank you Mr. Trump for blocking flights so early.

  2. Italy has a huge direct China connection.

  3. When our infection rates were just starting to go up, we knew more because of Italy’s massive disaster. We are like two weeks ahead.

  4. After it’s all over, it’s fair to compare - and only then can you accurately place some blame.

  5. You are definitely right that they have shitty single payer healthcare. And that led to them having disastrously low supplies of ventilators and equipment. It’s possible to have way under equipped capitalist healthcare too. We are somewhere in the middle. But at least our CDC is doing what trans drag shows? We are stocked in that department!
