You would think those numbers should be up in a time when everyone is locked in their homes, and needs updates.
TD really must have had millions of subscribed users despite the shown count on reddit for that impact.
Reddit in general is pretty useless now
I visit from time to time for niche JRPG communities and insider information about new policies from my company that will absolutely fuck people who are not ready for them, which the company itself will not announce until the day before the policy goes into effect. But now every day I spend maybe 45 seconds to 10 minutes there, whereas back when old T_D was around, it was my default background hangout no matter what I was actively doing in my down time.
And honestly, often I have to take some days off from it, as even in a sub about a JRPG series that's pretty much DEFINED by its three dimensional, well written characters where even the "villain" could actually have been right all along, but your characters didn't get that because of their own predefined political notions, people will occasionally compare Orange Man to Bad.
It really has. I recently realized I've been commenting less and less. People just aren't having good discussions anymore. Must be a serious brain drain going on.
I don't comment here that much either, to be fair, but T_D comments only accounted for like 1/8 or so of my reddit comments anyway.
Have a feeling at least a couple of mods have decent paying jobs or businesses and can afford to bank roll it for now and the medium term
